Spout for bathroom faucets - types

The spout is a part of the mixer, a curved metal tube, through which the water of the desired temperature enters the sink or bath. It is also called a gander or spout.

Today, the market is filled with mixers with different types of spouts, which differ, for example, in length, angle of bend, end shape. The main parameter is the height of the spout for the mixer in the bath. The choice should usually be based on the characteristics of your family. So, for example, if you have pets or small children, it makes sense to install a mixer with a high, from 25 cm, spout. Thanks to this, you will not need to spend a lot of water to wash your baby. And bathing the crumb in the sink is more convenient. In addition, in a sink with a high spout, you can install a bucket or a basin for recruiting water. Just remember that this gander can be mounted on a deep shell, otherwise your floor will be a constant spray.

A low spout (up to 15 cm) and an average spout (up to 25 cm) is set in those shells where you plan only to wash or brush your teeth .

Pay attention to the length of the spout of the mixer for the bathroom. Basically, a short or medium length gander is chosen for the shell. In the event that you plan to install a bath mixer, give preference to models with a long spout. Such a product will allow you to conduct the necessary procedures and do not pour the whole room with water. Alternatively, such a nozzle can be installed for wide shells.

Now in the plumbing store most often there are spills of two types of structures - static and rotary.

The latter option - mixers with a swivel spout for the bathroom - extremely convenient choice for bathrooms, in which the sink is located close to the bath. If you need to save space, it is recommended to buy such a model, to simply direct the gander into the bathtub to fill it with water, or in the sink to wash your hands. But the constant movement of the spout affects its strength.

In the static version, it is not possible to change the position of the gander. But this "inconvenience" is compensated by durability.
