Traditional curb street tiles are made from a mixture of cement and sand, or concrete and granite chips. There are two methods of manufacturing it:

  1. Vibration - when the mixture is poured into a plastic mold and put on a vibrating table. On it, the mixture is compacted, after which it is removed for 12 hours in a warm place until it freezes.
  2. Vibropressing - the mixture is poured into a mold placed on the bed of equipment, the punch presses the mixture until it is fully sealed.

For a summer residence it is preferable to use a curb tile made by vibrocompression because it is more durable, frost-resistant and affordable.

The curb stone for the basin lining in addition to performing the aesthetic function is necessary to beat the wave that occurs when diving and active swimming in the pool. As a result, a significant loss of water is prevented and the safety of people stepping on the edge of the pool who could slip on the wet surface.

A curbstone is usually made for a pool of fine-grained concrete and granite chips. It is treated with special water-repellent compounds, and this treatment is recommended to be repeated every 3 years.

There is also such a thing as curb tiles for the bathroom. It is a plinth closing the gap between the wall and the bathroom and plays the role of sealing and protecting the bathroom from the development of fungus and mold, as well as from flooding the lower neighbors.

The border tile in the bathroom can be ceramic, plastic or natural stone. Plastic borders are light and inexpensive, but they can not boast of high quality, and after a while they will need to be replaced.

Ceramic borders are the most durable and functional. In addition, they are ideally suited to the interior in the case where the walls are decorated with ceramic tiles. Natural stone is appropriate only in certain interiors because of its unwieldiness. In addition, you need to have certain skills to mount them.
