How to make a handmade watermelon?
Most watermelon crafts are quite deep containers, in which you can put a fruit or berry salad if desired. In creating such masterpieces, your child will also be happy to participate, especially on the eve of his birthday or other holiday.
The following instruction will help you, together with your son or daughter, make a shark mouth out of watermelon, which will become a magnificent decoration of the festive table:
- Prepare a fairly large ripe watermelon and a large sharp knife.
- Wash the berries thoroughly under running water without using detergents and dry with a towel. Twist the watermelon in your hands and determine on which side it has the most even color. This side will become a facial for your future shark.
- On the opposite side of the berry cut the piece so that you can put a berries on this place. It is better to cut a little at an angle - so you will get the most natural shark, which seems to come up.
- Set the berry on the cut surface and plot the contours of the future shark with a marker.
- On the marked lines with a sharp knife, cut out the shark mouth.
- If there are any lines on the peel, gently wipe them off with a damp cloth.
- Next, make a small cut around the mouth opening from the corners of the mouth. Its width should reach 1.5 centimeters in the middle. A similar cut is made for both the upper and lower lip.
- Perpendicular to the previous cut carefully remove a thin layer of green peel. The resulting light pieces will later be stylized to the teeth.
- Using a knife and a spoon, remove the ripe flesh. Do not clean everything up to a white crust, the oral cavity of the shark from the inside should be red.
- With a small sharp knife, cut the teeth in the form of triangles, starting from the center of the watermelon and gradually moving to its edges.
- From the remnants make a triangular fin, stick 2 toothpicks into it and fasten on the head of the shark.
- Pulp the watermelon in small cubes, mix with grapes, any berries or small sweets at will. Stir all the ingredients and put the mixture into the mouth of the shark.
- Use a teaspoon to make small holes for the eyes and insert black grapes.
- Place the finished product on a large plate, and around it lay the blue jelly, cut into pieces, to create an imitation of the emergence of a shark from the water.
