Convector heaters

With the completion of the warm season, the heating of our homes and the choice of heater become an urgent issue. Many inhabitants pay attention to such kind of heaters as convectors. The modern market offers a wide variety of these heating appliances, which leads the potential buyer to confusion. Therefore, we will try to help you in how to choose a convector heater.

The principle of the convector heater

A convector type heater is a device that serves to heat indoor air. It is a hollow metal case, inside of which there is an electric heating element controlled by the built-in thermostat. When this heater is used, a phenomenon such as convection is used, that is, the natural circulation of air in the room. This is when the warm air, having a lower density than the cold one, rises up to the ceiling. In the lower part of the convector there are holes through which cold air enters into it. Upon contact with parts of the heating element, it becomes sparse and exits through the upper openings in the housing. In this way, the room is heated evenly and quickly. Use convector heaters for home, offices, villas, small shopping pavilions. They are absolutely noiseless and safe, because they do not burn out oxygen, which means they do not produce an unpleasant odor. In addition, when using a convector electric heater, an additional pipe system is not needed.

Unlike electric convectors, gas heaters work on gas and work like solar radiation, that is, they heat not the surrounding air, but the surface of objects. Heat from the floor, furniture is then given to the air. This kind of convector is also safe in operation, but requires the installation of a special gas supply system and the withdrawal of combustion products.

Convector heaters: which one to choose?

If your choice fell on electric convectors, then among them there are wall and floor models. The set is supplied with legs, due to which the heater is located on the floor of your room. Moreover, the device can be freely moved to any place in the room, the main thing is that access to the electric network is ensured. The convector wall heater is attached to the wall, preferably immediately above the skirting board, and takes up little space. Thanks to the built-in thermostat, the device does not overheat, as it turns off. Keep in mind that this type of convector can be used as additional space heating, since such devices have low power (up to 2 kW).

Unlike electric gas convectors can be used as the main source of heat in the room, because their performance is from 2 to 6 kW. Among them, there are models that work exclusively on gas - gas. They are reliable, but necessarily require a pipe for the withdrawal of combustion products. In a gas ceramic convector heater, a flameless combustion of a specially prepared liquefied gas (propane-butane) inside the ceramic panel, located in the device. The heated panel becomes a source of heat radiation and heats the room. Household gas convectors can be used in rooms up to 60 square meters. m. If you want to have a good rest in a dacha with barbecue, the street infrared convection heater on gas, in which you can put a can of liquefied gas and enjoy the warmth, will not freeze to you.

As you can see, the choice of the type of convector depends on where and how you will use it. One thing is certain - thanks to the modern design, both electric and gas convectors look stylish and are written off in any situation.
