Cocoa butter in cosmetology

The benefits of cocoa butter were known in ancient times when used for medical purposes: they smeared their wounds for early healing, were taken inside to raise the protective properties of the body, and also applied to the skin for the treatment of dermatological diseases.

Fortunately, today medicine has stepped forward, and a lot of other medicines have been created to replace cocoa butter, each of which is designed to treat a particular disease.

But along with this useful properties of this oil are not exhausted: it is still able to heal microcracks, perfectly moisturize the skin and protect it from the harmful effects of the environment, as well as strengthen the structure of the hair.

Today, cocoa butter is widely used in cosmetics: it is added to lip balms, stretch marks, creams, firming the skin of the body and nourishing facial and hair masks.

However, the means for caring for the body, face and hair on the basis of cocoa butter can be done on their own: it is only necessary to figure out which ingredients need to be combined in order to obtain the desired effect.

Properties of cocoa butter

This oil has a dense consistency, in pure form it has a white color. It melts under the influence of body temperature, so its solid foundation - is not an obstacle for use in cosmetology.

Basically, the oil consists of fatty acids: in the largest amount it contains oleic monounsaturated fatty acid (more than 40%), which is well absorbed by the skin and is a conductor for penetration into tissues of other substances.

Cocoa butter also contains stearic acid (more than 30%), which is often used in cosmetology to create lotions and balms, lipsticks, tonal creams, etc. It affects the skin, making it silky: that's why hair masks, which include this substance has a softening effect.

Also cocoa butter contains palmitic and lauric acids, which refer to saturated fats.

Cocoa butter for hair

To create a means to strengthen hair based on cocoa butter, select a special container where the product will be stored.

Then prepare the following ingredients:

Place all the ingredients in a small container and put on a warm water bath. After the oils and vitamins are mixed, pour them into a pre-prepared jar and allow to cool. After 30 minutes the product will thicken slightly and will be ready for use: apply once a week before washing the head of this mask on your hair, and rub it into the scalp. Due to the fact that the mask has a dense consistency, it can be applied only to the roots and ends of the hair.

After 60 minutes, the head needs to be washed with shampoo.

Cocoa butter for face

Cocoa butter for the skin is used in its pure form: it is enough to take a small piece and drive it over the face. It is advisable to do this procedure for the night: during this time the skin will have time to recover and be saturated with the beneficial substances that make up the oil.

Lip Cacao Oil

Cocoa butter is best used together with hygienic lipstick: apply oil before going to sleep on the lips of cocoa, and then smear your lips with lipstick or baby cream. This is a good remedy for weathering the skin of the lips: in a few hours the skin in this area will recover.

Cocoa butter for body

For the body undiluted, this oil is used only for very dry areas: the feet, knees, elbows: to moisten the rest of the body, this oil is diluted with other ingredients.

Cocoa butter from stretch marks

Solving the problem of stretch marks can only be surgically done, so with the help of oil you can try to only slightly improve the look of the skin.

The area of ​​stretch marks can be lubricated with a piece of undiluted oil, but much more efficiently - melt 50 g of cocoa butter and mix it with 1 tsp. grape seed oil: this is a good restorative for any type and skin area.

Cocoa butter for breast

To restore the elasticity of the skin in this zone, take 1 tsp. peach oil, 50 g of cocoa butter and jojoba. Melt the ingredients in a water bath, and then place them in a special storage container. Rub every day clockwise this remedy to strengthen the skin in the chest area.
