Cesarean section - postoperative period

Cesarean section, like any other abdominal surgery, requires the patient to continue to stay in the hospital for recovery under the supervision of doctors. It is followed by a long rehabilitation period after cesarean - it can last several months. During this time, the woman should be as attentive to herself as possible: to observe the slightest changes in the state of health, the nature and abundance of menstrual flow, the condition of the seams before they are directly removed, and so on. On a psychological level, changes can also happen: some people are irritated and even disgusted with regard to a husband who craves sexual satisfaction and affection amid a rather severe fear of pain due to surgical intervention. So, as you understand, the postoperative period after cesarean section is a rather difficult stage in the life of the fair sex who has experienced this procedure.

How does cesarean section restore after surgery?

"How quickly to recover after a cesarean?" - this question is asked by all women before they lie under the scalpel of the surgeon. But the doctor's response usually upsets the patient: it will not be possible to return to an absolutely normal life in a month or a half. The postoperative cesarean section at best will take 9-10 weeks. After all, during the operation, not only the abdominal cavity is dissected, but also the muscular wall of the uterus, and the restoration of its structure and initial state is very difficult. Because of such an intervention, recurrences of inflammation of the ovaries, endometriosis and thrush often occur, and they, as you know, do not contribute to early rehabilitation. That is why the basis of postoperative support is the use of antibiotics. They are appointed by the doctor, taking into account possible contraindications and side effects. The temperature increase after caesarean section may be caused by a sharp cancellation of the antibacterial drug, therefore, it is necessary to follow the recommendations of the supervising physician in order to reduce the dosage.

Bleeding after caesarean section often happens due to nervous breakdowns and heavy physical exertion. Ask to appoint you a mild sedative that does not affect the quality of breast milk, and shift to her husband responsibilities for weekly purchases in the hypermarket.

In the first three weeks after surgery, try not to burden the stomach with heavy food. After 20-30 days you will be able to fully eat, but for now you will need to consult a specialist about what you can eat after cesarean. To improve digestion, drink each morning on an empty stomach one glass of non-carbonated mineral water with orange juice or grapefruit. Eat oatmeal or wheat porridge, they also have a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract, for lunch, eat vegetable or chicken broth with a small slice of butter. In the evening you can drink strong sweet tea. Of course, such a diet will not be to the liking of everyone - but a more "weighty" meal often causes gastric pain after cesarean section.

Than to process a seam after cesarean, the surgeon at the first consultation usually tells. The easiest way is to take care of the self-absorbing seams - the threads used for them will disappear after 5-7 days, you only need to lubricate them twice a day with a solution of furacilin or manganese. The usual surgical suture, as well as special brackets, removes the doctor after 7-10 days. If the incision does not heal well, it is necessary to lubricate it not only with an antiseptic, but with an antibiotic prescribed for this purpose.
