What is cervical canal atresia?
A similar phenomenon in gynecology was called "cervical canal atresia", which literally means no hole. With this violation, the communication between the vagina and the uterine cavity is completely absent.
How does the pathology manifest itself?
As a rule, such a violation does not make itself felt for a long time, despite the fact that in most cases it is formed in utero or in girls at an early age.
Only with the onset of the period of puberty, parents begin to worry about the relatively long absence of menstrual flow. However, this does not mean that cyclical changes in such girls do not occur. In such situations, blood accumulates directly in the uterine cavity, which subsequently leads to the development of hematomas. This is noted when the cervical canal is closed along its entire length.
How is treatment carried out?
Having told about what the conclusion means, "the cervical canal is closed," it is necessary to name ways of treating this disorder.
The only method for such a pathology is surgical intervention. If the communication between the uterus and the vagina is partially preserved, then the bougie of the closed part of the cervical canal (enlargement) is carried out.
With full recovery, a procedure such as recanalization is carried out. It involves a new channel using a laser. With the diagnosis of "recurrent atresia of the cervical canal," an implant can be placed in it, preventing further contact of the walls and their adhesion.
