Breast Pads

Since breast milk is the best food for a child, many mothers are ready to make every possible effort to establish a process of breastfeeding. Unfortunately, on the way to successful breastfeeding, there are really obstacles that young moms have to overcome. Most often after delivery, moms encounter the following situations that can make breastfeeding more difficult:

Fortunately, recently manufacturers of baby products for feeding have developed breast patches that can help moms solve some problems with lactation.

Why do I need nipple pads?

Among the lining on the chest, there is a division depending on their destination. It:

  1. Breast pads for feeding. This type of linings helps in feeding with flat and sensitive nipples. It is possible to select these adaptations taking into account the size of the female nipple and areola. Due to the available holes on the end of the sucking lining, they freely pass the secreted milk from the chest, without painful sensations when feeding, and the nipples in them take the desired shape. A child is much easier to get his food in this way, especially if he has difficulties in capturing and holding a nipple. Breast pads are used not only in cases of flat or cracked nipples, they are usually recommended for use in maternity homes, if it is a question of preterm infants, and also if the child is diagnosed with CNS depression (in this case they have poorly developed sucking reflex).
  2. Breast pads for collecting milk. In general, they are used in cases of hypogalactia and incontinent nipples. During the feeding of the baby, the infusion milk is released from both breasts, which, in case of insufficient quantity, especially do not want to be lost simply. Put on the breast pads to collect milk, you can carefully collect it, then save for future feeding. In the case of incontinent nipples, leakage of milk occurs regardless of the feeding. In the most serious cases, this is fraught with the impossibility of its accumulation in the breast for feeding the baby. Lining allows you to collect leaking milk, then to use it in the baby's nutrition.
  3. Patches for correction of flat nipples. Usually they are vacuum nipple attachments that need to be worn throughout the day for several months during pregnancy in order to correct for the birth of the nipple.

Disadvantages of feeding through the lining

Basically, the breast patches are used to facilitate the process of feeding the baby. However, these devices are recommended to be used for a short time, only at the stage of lactation, to adapt the nipples to feeding. Prolonged use of lining for feeding is fraught with the following problems:
