Let's recall the biography of John Lennon as a life story of one of the most famous musicians of the last century.

Childhood and youth of John Lennon

John Lennon was born October 9, 1940 in the city of Liverpool in the north-west of England. His parents were Julia Stanley and Alfred Lennon. Soon after the birth of John, a young couple of Lennon broke up. When the boy was 4 years old, his mother gave it to his sister Mimi Smith, and began to organize a personal life with a new man. The Smiths - Mimi and her husband George - were a childless couple. At the same time Mimi raised John in severity, not encouraging his propensity for music. John was much closer to John, his uncle George, after his death in 1955, he became close with his mother Julia.

John Lennon from childhood had a sharp mind and a tendency to sarcastic expression of his thoughts. Years of study at school did not give him pleasure because of his monotony, which greatly reduced his academic performance.

The real passion for John Lennon was music. In 1956, he created the band "The Quarrymen", which included his school friends. Lennon himself participates in the band as a guitarist. Later, he meets Paul McCartney and John Harrison, who also takes part in the band.

In 1958, John Lennon's mother, Julia, died tragically. Crossing the road, she is under the wheels of a car under the control of a police officer. This event greatly influenced John as a person. He was very attached to his own mother and so in the future he sought her in his beloved women.

After an absolute failure at the final school exams, John Lennon enters the Liverpool Art College. Here he meets his future wife Cynthia Powell .

In 1959, "The Quarrymen" ceases to exist, and the group gets the name "Silver Beatles", and later renamed "The Beatles".

John Lennon in his youth and in his mature years

In the early 60's, when "The Beatles" first appeared on tour abroad, John Lennon tried drugs. In the same period, Brian Epstein becomes the manager of the band, the appearance of which marked a new stage in the history of The Beatles. The group members stopped smoking on stage and used "strong words" in the speech. In the image of musicians, there has also been a dramatic change: leather jackets have now been replaced by classical suits with jackets without lapels. And although the innovations did not please the team at first, they allowed to significantly raise the rating of the group and make it more popular.

In 1962, John Lennon marries Cynthia Powell, and in 1963 the couple has a son named Julian, named after the mother of John Julia.

By 1964, "The Beatles" is gaining worldwide fame. During this period, the leader of the group is John Lennon. However, by the end of the 1960s, his addiction to drugs forced him to move away from the group and lose his leadership positions. Following the death of Brian Epstein, the management of the group was taken over by one of its participants, Paul McCartney. In the creativity of the Beatles there were significant contradictions, which was dictated by the difference in their views on the world. This time was also marked by a change in the image of the group's members. Famous costumes are a thing of the past, and neat hairstyles replaced long hair, whiskers and even a mustache.

In 1968, John Lennon divorced from Cynthia Powell. The reason for this was his treason with the artist Yoko Ono. Later, in 1969, the wedding of John Lennon and Yoko Ono took place.

By 1968, the mutual claims of the two leaders - John Lennon and Paul McCartney - reached their climax. As a result, by the time the last album "The Beatles" "Let It Be" was released, the band had completely disbanded. John Lennon begins his solo career with his wife Yoko Ono. Already in 1968 they release their first album, albeit without music. And in 1969 Lennon and Ono form a joint group called "Plastic Ono Band".

The active political activities of John Lennon fell on the period from 1968 to 1972. Its beginning was marked by such songs as "Revolution 1" and "Come Together", recorded as a part of "The Beatles". John Lennon stands for world peace. In 1969, in support of his convictions, he, along with Yoko, arranged a so-called "bed interview". Having dressed in white pajamas and decorating their hotel room with flowers, John and Yoko give interviews to the press all day long, lying in bed. The main appeal of the bed action is the cessation of aggression in Vietnam. Stormy political activity causes Lennon to face a psychological crisis, to get out of which he was able thanks to Dr. Arthur Yanov.

In 1971, John Lennon's legendary album "Imagine" comes out, imbued with the idealistic views of its creator. Later, after 1969, the Lennans get the right to live in the United States, and John immediately begins to actively promote rights and freedoms in the States.

The creative period, filled with an appeal for radical change, ended by the early 1970s.

In 1973, the US authorities ordered John Lennon to leave the country in a short time. Parting with his wife lasted more than a year. At this time, Yoko Ono was replaced by her secretary, Mae Peng. However, John Lennon did not find any spiritual intimacy in a pair with Mae. Long separation from his wife and decline in creativity led to a repeated psychological crisis.

In 1975 John Lennon again becomes a father. This time his son gave him a second wife, Yoko Ono. The boy is called Sean.

The last album of John Lennon was "Double Fantasy", released in 1980 in co-authorship with Yoko Ono.

The Death of John Lennon

His killer was the American Mark David Chapman, who several hours earlier received the autograph of Lennon on the cover of the new album "Double Fantasy". Returning with his wife Yoko Ono home, John Lennon received 4 gunshot wounds in the back. Despite the operative hospitalization of the musician in the nearest city hospital in New York, doctors have not been able to save him. The body of John Lennon was cremated, and the ashes were handed over to the wife of Yoko Ono.
