True connoisseurs of horror films are unlikely to be interested in the usual "children's" horror film. They give not just this, from which the blood in the veins becomes colder, but also something about which you can talk and reflect. Such flms are not much inferior to high-intellectual cinema.
1. Saw
The beginning of 2004 was marked by the release of a horror film in the genre of the thriller "Saw". This tape, which was originally intended only for viewing on video, broke all recordings of the film distribution and for today represents a whole series of films, where each subsequent is a continuation of the previous one. Critics argue that the popularity of the film was ensured by a very deep philosophy embedded in the plot - only on the verge of life and death, a person shows his true face.
2. The Martyrs
Bloody French drama "The Martyr" (2008) can replenish the collection of fans of horror films, in which scenes of torture and bullying prevail. The action begins in the seventies. The main character is the girl Lucy, who was lost a year ago, who managed to escape from prison in an incredible way. The plot of the film does not let the viewer for a long time after viewing, so even critics can not decide whether the picture is taken simply in the horror genre or it is still a psychological thriller.

Who is closer to mystical horrors, and not bloody massacre, will appreciate the film "The key from all the doors" (2005). 5. Alien
On the verge of fantasy and horror, a storyline was written by director Ridley Scott in the film "Alien". But this is not done so that people are afraid of extraterrestrial beings. Throughout the film a red thread runs through the thought of the incredible responsibility of scientists for their activities before the universe and earthlings. No matter how unlimited possibilities foreign beings possess, nothing can compare with the soul of an ordinary person.
6. Other
A deep impression will certainly be made by the thriller Alejandro Amenabara "Others", which appeared on the screens in 2001. This is a tragic story of the Stewart family, in which the main character - Grace, without knowing herself, waiting for her beloved wife from the front, deprived the lives of both children and herself. The main meaning lies in the title of the picture, because, as a ghost, Grace saw danger in living people, considering them different.
7. Jacob's Ladder
This film in the genre of mystical thriller proves how much the budget can be small and how great the emotions are from viewing. Released in 1990, he received a well-deserved recognition, both among numerous spectators and film critics. In the course of the film, it is difficult to say whether all the events taking place with the protagonist - the veteran of the war in Vietnam - are realistic, but the idea that the world around us is such, what our perception is, undoubtedly stirs up consciousness.
8. Bunker
The Spanish psychological thriller "Bunker" directed by Andres Baiz should be examined until the end, because the beginning can be confused with the boring same melodrama. However, closer to the middle of the picture the plot is very unusually twisted, and the tension continues to grow to the very end. The film makes you think about the relationship between the sexes and the "grandeur" of your own ego.
9. The Stigmata
The film "Stigmata" (1999) did not initially pretend to be horrified, but gradually entered this series.
