Which dishes are suitable for induction cookers?

Aesthetics in the design of the kitchen is just as important as its functionality. That is why, more and more hostesses make a choice in favor of induction cookers, which have a lot of advantages - simplicity in care, minimalist design, speed of cooking.

Even while planning the purchase of such household appliances, the landlady asks what kind of cookware is suitable for induction cookers , and how to determine if it is already possible to put the existing kitchen utensils on a new cooking surface. Let's look at this issue, which bothers many.

How to distinguish dishes for induction cookers?

If you are going to buy new dishes, you should know that there is a special labeling of dishes for induction cookers. Almost all modern manufacturers of quality goods put such a mark.

An icon on the dishes for induction cookers is on the bottom on the outside. It is made in the form of a spiral in 4-5 turns with the inscription Induction or without it. This spiral symbolizes electromagnetic radiation, which is called induction. In physics, induction currents are also depicted in the form of such a sign.

Many are concerned about the question of whether it is possible to use dishes for an induction cooker on other types of plates, whether it will deteriorate at the same time, and whether it will work at all.

If you look closely at the marking, next to the induction badge, you can find others that indicate the possibility of using such dishes on a gas and electric stove, which makes induction cookware universal.

The choice of dishes for induction cookers does not always require a large investment of money. Not everyone knows that in the cupboard, where all kinds of pans are stored, pans and a scoop will certainly be dishes that can also be put on the induction surface, even if it does not have a corresponding badge.

Is it suitable for induction cookers?

On the old grandmother's cast-iron frying pan the best pancakes are obtained, not in the example of modern "tefalam". Do you have to push it into the far corner and change it to a special one, with a badge?

Of course, no, since at least on cast-iron dishes (frying pan, mattress or Kazanka) and there is no corresponding marking, it is suitable for use on a modern induction cooker. The downside is that the dishes for the induction batteries must have ferromagnetic properties, in other words - attract the magnet. And cast iron is magnetized just fine.

Use of enamel and stainless cookware

But what about the different-sized enamel saucepans, many of which have been living in our kitchens since the time of the Soviet Union? For them, the same law applies as for cast iron - you need to try such a dish magnet. If it sticks, then the pan can continue to perform its direct functions and the layer of enamel is not a hindrance.

The main requirement to use the old enamel, and any other utensils - a flat bottom, without cavities. After all, often the bottom of the pot has as it were raised in the middle of the site, and this will make heating difficult and the use of such dishes will simply not be effective. In addition, utensils with an uneven bottom that does not completely stick to the induction surface, buzzes while standing on the stove.

Stainless cookware is most suitable for an induction surface, but it is still worth checking with a magnet, because some models of pots may have a bottom of a different, non-magnetizing alloy.

Which dishes are not suitable for induction cookers?

Ceramic, as well as glassware for an induction cooker will not work, because the device simply does not recognize it, because it reacts only to metal. Therefore, this kind of dishes should be used for a microwave oven and oven.

Not suitable for induction aluminum and copper dishes, because it not at all magnetized. But if you really want to use, for example, a copper basin for cooking jam, you should put a circle of ordinary metal under it to make such a basin "earned".

Tableware size for induction cooker

As a rule, on the plate there are outlined zones, which should be oriented when installing dishes. The pan and frying pan can be slightly larger than this circle and act for it - the cooking process from this will not change. But a small Turk or a ladle, the size of which is less than 12 cm, will not be recognized by the stove, and therefore one should buy dishes with a diameter larger than this size.
