Today, a simple bleached ceiling can hardly surprise anyone, since many prefer ultra-modern suspension structures. They allow you to quickly level the uneven wall surface without pre-plaster and primer. The suspended ceiling can be installed in the kitchen, balcony and in other rooms of the apartment. When choosing a cover, it is advisable to follow the specified design and features of operation of the room.
Cassette suspended ceilings
The main elements of this coating are steel or aluminum plates, which are commonly called "cassettes". The size of the slabs for the suspended ceiling is 30x30, 60x60 or 90x90 cm. The cassettes are mounted on a prepared iron frame pre-attached to the ceiling. The application of cassette ceilings is very wide: swimming pools, offices, medical centers, restaurants. In residential apartments they are used in the bathroom and in the kitchen, since the products are resistant to moisture and are difficult to ignite.
Depending on the type of materials suspended cassette ceilings are divided into groups:
- Suspended metal ceiling . As the basis is the galvanized rolling. Plates can have a smooth texture or have open cells of round or square shape. The surface is painted with an abrasion resistant powder paint.
- Suspended aluminum ceilings . Produced in the form of long racks or square cassettes. In the first case, the ceiling in the design clearly identifies each module (rake), and in the second the surface seems solid. As for the color solution, here are presented any shades - from black to white. Very elegant look surfaces with a mirror effect (achieved through chemical polishing).
- Suspended lattice ceiling . Can be performed both metal and aluminum. It consists of square blocks, which in turn consist of small cells. Suspended raster ceiling is mainly used in production rooms and shopping centers. It allows you to reliably "hide" communications, reduces noise and does not interfere with ventilation.
Wood, glass or plastic
If you want to decorate the hanging ceiling design at home, it is better to refer to one of these materials. They are the most organically fit into the living quarters and have no shortcomings in terms of operation. Depending on the type of material, the following types of suspended ceilings can be distinguished:
- Wooden suspended ceilings . Ceiling panels can be made from an array of valuable wood, or from a cheap breed, veneered with veneer. At installation panels are fastened on the type of a laminate or simply beat to beams of overlappings. This option is great for decorating a country house, cottage or a place in ekostyle.
- Plastic suspended ceiling . Of all these options is considered the most budgetary and easy to install. The only drawback is that the panels for the suspended plastic ceiling are capable of rapid ignition. Scope: entrance hall, balcony , bathroom.
- Glass false ceiling . The basis is a strong silicate glass. Despite all the shortcomings (complexity in installation, long preparatory work, high cost) this design looks very unusual and fascinating. To enhance the effect, designers use built-in lights that create the illusion of depth.
- Moisture-resistant suspended ceilings with photo printing . Made of PVC film with a pattern on it. As an image, natural motifs and design drawings can be used.
