Triglav lakes are several picturesque lakes located in the valley between the villages of Bohinj and Trent. In the valley there are deposits of karst, which was formed in this area by the weathering of rocks. The exact number of Triglav lakes is unknown, some of them are extremely small. Such lakes often dry up, or even disappear altogether.
Triglav Lake - description
The valley, where Triglav lakes are located, is located at an altitude of 1670 m above sea level, and is surrounded by steep cliffs. Among the main reservoirs located here, you can list the following:
- The first lake is called Black, it is very picturesque, around it there are many huge stones. Despite the color of the lake, it is full of fish.
- Next to the Black there is the next Double Lake. In it, the water seems emerald, surrounded by white mountains.
- There is also a lake near Vršac, which even in summer is completely covered with ice.
- South of this lake is Brown, where in some places the depth reaches 10 m.
- A small length is occupied by the Green Lake, its depth is about 2 m.
- The deepest lake is located at a high altitude, its depth reaches about 15 meters. In winter, this area is covered by huge layers of snow.
To see the lake, you will have to make a long journey through the rocks, even a stop in the mountains with an overnight stay. For a one-day trip, only two nearest lakes - the Black and the Double. To get up to them, you need to specially prepare and carry out your journey through the rocks. On some rocks down streams of streams come down, it's pure mountain water, which is difficult to call a waterfall. When the descent to the Black Lake is completed, then the road will not be so winding, and there will be almost a flat path.
Before the second lake to move about an hour and a half, on the way there will be forests, which sometimes open and between the trees are seen rocky cliffs. Here, the greens can begin to wake up in the summer, and in the shadows and at all can remain unmelted snow. Near the Double Lake there is a small house where you can stay for the night.

Triglav lakes are part of the Triglav National Park in order to reach it, first you need to get to the city of Bled . This can be done by taking the train from Ljubljana . Then you should take the bus.
