But it is possible to process the stone at home, if you have some tools for this.

Equipment for stone processing at home

At once it is necessary to stipulate that although cutting, processing and finishing of the stone is domestic, but this does not mean that you can do it in the kitchen or one of the rooms of the house / apartment. For such work, you need to have a separate room, moreover equipped with good exhaust ventilation, because in the course of work a large amount of dust will be formed, which is not wholesome for health.

So, at home, you can cut, polish, polish, engrave stones. The first two types of work must be done exclusively with a continuous supply of water, which cools the tool and removes the slag generated in the process, and also significantly reduces the amount of dust.

Rough cutting of stone can be carried out by an ordinary Bulgarian with a dial over the stone. If you need a more precise cutting, you need to get a machine like a sawmill with a movable metal platform.

Self-polishing the stone can be done with a grinding machine (stationary or manual), or again using a grinder with grinding wheels. The simplest way to grind small stones (up to 20-25 cm in length) is to pour the abrasive powder onto the cast iron slab, pour in water and rub the stone until it gains the necessary smoothness of the surface.

Polishing is carried out with the help of a stone processing tool, such as a polishing wheel and Goi paste.

Engraving on a stone is possible if there is a set of incisors on a stone and a hammer. For more subtle work, you need to have a special device - an engraving machine. You can polish the engraving with an electric drill with polishing attachments .
