Sphynx - care and content

At present, no one falls into a stupor at the sight of a hairless cat - the Sphinx . Many do not even mind getting such a charming creature at home. But, inexperienced cat lovers are stopped precisely by the exoticism of the sphinxes - in the sense that care and their content can be just as exotic.

Features of the content of sphinxes

It should be noted that none of the varieties of sphinxes ( Canadian , Don, St. Petersburg - Petersburg) does not require any special care. And in this connection, first of all, about appearance - although the cat does not have a coat, it does not mean that the cat should be wrapped around, protecting from the cold. Not at all! Sphynxes are not so afraid of cold as drafts. If necessary, they themselves will find a way to warm up - as a rule, this place is under the blanket of the owner. With the sphinxes you can make small walks. Of course, not in the winter cold, but in the warmer time of the year - please. Protect the animal from direct sunlight! Because of the slightly higher body temperature, compared with other breeds of cats, sphinxes (adults) are practically not sick, and in case of disease (most often viral diseases) recover quickly.

Care and Feeding

However exotic the Sphynx cats look, they do not need specific care and feeding. In food, they are not fastidious and have an excellent appetite, although the balance of the diet should be adhered to by all means. They can be stored on natural or dry (only premium!) Feeds, on mixed nutrition. The only thing that should be specially mentioned is the caring for the eyes of the Sphinx. These cats are completely lacking eyelashes, therefore, to avoid gluing, the eyes should be washed daily with a neutral solution - chamomile broth, a weak solution of potassium permanganate or simply warm boiled water (tea brew should not be used!).
