The history of the appearance of the palace

In the XIX century, especially for the sheikhs of the ruling Macthum dynasty, a white palace was built, from the windows of which a beautiful view of the harbor opened. The building has an impressive and powerful view. Its thick walls are made of coral, which are covered with a layer of lime and gypsum. This construction technology allows you to keep cool in the room. In addition, corner wind towers are used here - a kind of conditioning system of the century before last.

What is interesting about Sheikh Said's palace?

The building is typical of the Arab architecture of the time. The palace consists of two floors, where various exhibition exhibits are located. Once the second floor served as the residence of the sheikh's family, and below were the living rooms, storerooms and kitchen. The patio safely protected the inhabitants from the hot winds from the desert. Now the second floor offers a wonderful view of the skyscrapers on the horizon and the water surface of the bay. The premises have high vaulted ceilings, wide windows and carved lattices.
