Modern fashion

Fashion in the modern world is called upon to play the role of a kind of litmus determining the lifestyle and social status of a person. With the development of mankind, the views on beauty, style and "decent appearance" also changed.

For the sake of justice it is worth noting that the styles of modern fashion are very diverse, and fashion today is much more democratic than the fashion of past centuries. Present fashionistas are lucky - they can choose trends and styles at their discretion, taking into account the individual characteristics of the exterior. But without knowing the styles and trends of fashion, it's hardly possible to do it competently. In this article, we will talk about modern fashion trends.

History of modern fashion

Modern trends in fashion in clothing are direct heirs of the fashion of the past. In order to understand the principles of fashion development and adequately assess the significance of trends, it is necessary to have at least a minimum knowledge of the history of fashion.

To delve into the subtlest twists and turns of fashion development is not necessary. It is enough to analyze and remember the characteristic features of the fashion periods from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day

1900-1920. Modern. Women get rid of corsets, which is replaced by linen with rigid inserts (bones). Freedom, of course, this is not called, but the linen at least ceased to distort the natural silhouette and deform the internal organs of girls. The fashion includes oriental ethnic motifs and exotic fabrics - silk, brocade. In fashion, an overstated waist, a deep neckline, after 1915 evening dresses on the floor were shortened, and now they reached the ankles. The fashion included cuts, and quite frank.

Since the 1920s, the boyish silhouette has become fashionable. Bold-chested beauties bandage the chest, trying to make it smaller. Actual are long strands of pearls (up to 2 meters), a strong tan and bright makeup . The most desperate women of fashion even took iodine baths to achieve a dark reddish brown skin, on which the pearls would look particularly impressive. Bright makeup compensated for the lack of femininity - dark shadows made the eyes deeper, and bright red lipstick emphasized lips.

Since 1925, skirts are rapidly losing length, and already in 1926 appeared the legendary little black dress from Chanel - the most popular model of the twentieth century. The most popular style of the 20's was the Egyptian ethnician - the eyes, the graphic quads, the narrow dresses.

In the thirties, women become tired of rebelliousness and return to more tranquil outfits. Skirts again lengthen, to emphasize the slender girl's figure use a cut on the scythe. At the peak of popularity take off the sleeves of the wings and lanterns, the accent of the silhouette is shifted to the shoulders.

By the end of the 30's, the silhouettes are becoming even stricter - the Great Depression and the tense political situation in Europe are affecting.

In the 1940s, the style remains strict, the industry works for war needs, so women are not up to grace. Tissues are sorely lacking, decor, drapery and other "excesses" completely disappear from the outfits.

At the end of the war, everything changes radically - women wear bows, begin to emphasize the waist (thanks to Christian Dior ).

Fashion 60's are Twiggy, minimalism, bright colors and some infantility in outfits (baby-dollar style), A-line mini skirts, geometric print and boots at any time of the year.

The 1970s are hippies, denim, the popularity of ethnics and folk, the birth of punk and disco style, dresses, shirts, pants and ponchos.

In the 80's, they wore tights in a net, dresses in a sportive style, knitted dresses, and the universal hobby for aerobics lifted neon colors and sneakers, leggings and headbands to the top trends.

In the 90's at the peak of the popularity of grunge and unisex, girls are eager for convenience in casual clothing. It is fashionable to take care of the environment and abandon the natural fur.

Since the beginning of the 21st century, it has become more difficult to talk about trends in fashion - they differentiate more and more, giving women of fashion the right to choose their own trends. We remembered a lot of experiments with color and styles (not always successful) and a lot of naked body.

The styles of modern fashion are increasingly blurred, and the girls again begin to appreciate the quality of the fabric and cut, and also strive to create their own style .

Trends in modern fashion

Modern youth fashion is an endless experiment with color, texture and style. Mods today can choose one of many fashionable styles:

  1. Vintage. Return to dresses 1920-60's.
  2. Glamor. Luxury and chic "golden age" of Hollywood.
  3. Swag. Bright (even flashy) clothes, combining sports and glamorous things. Very popular in modern street fashion.
  4. Ethno-style. Elements and motifs of traditional costumes of the peoples of the world.
  5. Unisex. Blurring the boundaries of gender - women and men dress very similar, almost the same.
  6. The militarians. Dresses resembling a military uniform. Characteristic details: epaulettes, chevrons and slots, stressed shoulders, glittering buttons.
  7. Romantic style. Soft colors, floristic prints, thin knitted cardigans and elegant shoes.
  8. Eclecticism. Mixing contrasting styles.
  9. Futurism. Simple silhouettes, but sophisticated cut, glossy glittering materials and unusual accessories.

Modern fashion for full is aimed at visual correction and elimination of existing disproportions of the figure. So, girls with full thighs are well suited classic fitted silhouettes, allowing visually "pull out" a figure, clothes with basque and decor creating a vertical pattern.
