International Tourism Day

Modern tourism is developing with leaps and bounds. If in the mid-50s of the last century tourists in the world were about fifty million, then last year the planet was already traveling about a billion people. Transport is improving and becoming more accessible to the middle class, in most developed countries, ordinary people can already afford to put aside the right amount to spend their holidays somewhere abroad. Forecasts show that by 2030 the number of tourists will increase to 1.8 billion, and most of them will be carried to the desired point by airplanes.

History of the day of tourism

September 27, 1979 is the date when the World Tourism Day was first celebrated. Why this day was chosen for this event? The thing is that around the end of September the tourist season in our Northern Hemisphere is coming to an end and the people are massively beginning to rush to the South. On this day festivals, rallies, noisy festivities timed to the development of tourism are scheduled, are held in many countries of the world. It's no secret that a large number of countries consider this sector of the economy to be the main one in their budget. And they plan to hold such events in a big way and at the highest level.

The first tourists were merchants and aristocrats, who could afford such a long trip. Previously, we had to spend years on the road to get to China, Thailand or Japan. But gradually the ships became more fleet, there were planes and trains, and now in a matter of hours you can be transferred to the end of the world. After the First World War, the origin ceased to play such an important role as before. The middle class began to travel, to discover resorts, springs of mineral waters. Air travel became available, and overseas exotic territories, former European colonies, turned into an attractive destination for tourists.

How to celebrate the day of tourism?

Not bad, when local authorities understand that this industry is important, and arrange noisy events on the international tourism day. We advise you not to miss such festivities, because often well-known tour operators arrange prizes for them. Here you can not only have fun, but also easily get a free ticket to a foreign resort. Of course, the chances of success are not very high, but you do not risk absolutely, not anything. A day spent not with the usual TV, but in excursions around the city, filled with quizzes, contests or concerts, is better remembered by your children.

It's good if you have the time and money to go today to Thailand, Japan or Ghana. You can also with a cheerful company make an ascent to a mountain peak or visit a Turkish resort. But what should we do for those of us who live in remote places and have to go to work every day? The development of tourism can play an important role in our own country, helping to recall the local forgotten traditions, cultural heritage. Very often quite close to us are amazing corners, museums, ancient manors, which are worthy of general attention. A small trip to a neighboring region or a trip to nature with the whole family can become more exciting than a long flight to a foreign country.

Why not arrange a Hawaiian , Chinese, Greek or Japanese party on an international tourism day at your dacha? The assortment of products in stores is now so rich that you can easily prepare any national dish from the most exotic ingredients. Homemade costumes, guitar, tequila, bonfire, a night in the open air - all this will give you a lot of impressions.
