Make a sofa with your own hands

1. Of course, you can not do a sofa with your own hands, even simple drawings will be needed. We will here give all the dimensions of the product for clarity directly on the photo. First we collect a box for linen.
2. To strengthen the design, two transverse slats should be provided.
3. For a seat and a backrest it is necessary to make two completely identical skeletons from a bar 40х60.
4. We beat the lamellae that will hold the mattress.
5. Armrests are cut from a chipboard board (25 mm). Make two identical blanks on the left and right sides at the same time.
6. Armrests need a frame. One feature - its length should be created approximately 20 mm shorter than the chipboard. Under the bolts, as in the photo, we make 2 holes.
7. In the laundry box, also drill 2 holes on each side.
8. A sofa bed with its own hands should have a transformation mechanism. At each model it happens different. We took the finished product, which is sold in specialized stores.
9. The main thing in its installation is to provide a gap between the chair and the backrest about 10 mm. In addition, the seat must not extend beyond the armrests when folded.
10. You can try to fold the sofa bed, checking the work of the mechanism.
11. We attach the non-woven fleece to the lamellas and the top of the foam rubber (the material thickness is 60 mm), we cut out the groove for the transformation mechanism.
12. If you want to create a soft roller along the edge of the seat, you should glue an additional strip of foam rubber (thickness 20 m).
13. Stretch the pre-sewn stitches.
14. On the arms we glue the roller from the foam rubber.
15. From above, we beat foam rubber (20 mm) to form a decorative thickening.
16. Glue the foam rubber on the sidewalls at a distance of about 320 mm from the floor.
17. All sticking edges gently bend inward and cut off excess.
18. You can wrap armrests with a decorative cloth.
19. The design of the sofa by its own hands should provide for some decorative elements, woodcarving . We fasten the accessories on the front side.
20. Once again, we will check how the sofa will look in the unfolded state, whether the mechanism of transformation works well.
21. Manufacture of sofas by itself is finished. You can admire your product.
