Nevertheless, many people just now intend to provide themselves with access to the Internet. With the advent of the smartphone and tablets , wireless technology Wi-Fi is popular. However, just to buy special equipment (WI-FI router) and sign a contract with the provider is only half the case.

Before doing any other actions, decide where you will place the device. Ideally, if the Wi-Fi signal is available in almost any corner of your home. So, there was a suitable place for the rover. It remains the most responsible - to connect to the Internet. It is not difficult, only a few actions are needed:
- The device is first connected to the electrical network by inserting the power adapter into a special round connector.
- Then the router is connected to the computer. This is done by using a network cable with two identical plugs. One of the ends is connected to the router in the slots located behind-LAN1, or LAN2 and so on.
- The other end of the cable is connected to the PC network card.
- After these actions in the drive you need to insert a disk that is bundled with the modem. There are software on it. When the application starts, install the driver.
- Then we are setting up our PC to work with the router. In the "Control Panel" go to the section "Network and the Internet". After this action, go to "Manage network connections." Well, there we double-click the left mouse on the "Local Area Connection", where we click "Internet Protocol". This will require an IP address. It's easy: just go into the browser and enter the combination "192.168.1.1". in the address bar field. This applies to almost all modems, including how to connect a Wi-Fi router to Asus. And for models from Tenda, Netgear, D-Link introduce a little different values: "192.168.0.1". After that, in the window we write both the user name and the password "admin".
- In the network connection setup window, click on "Details", where you will see:
- the default gateway, where "IP-192.168.1.1" appears (192.168.0.1);
- IP-address with the data "192.168.1.1" (192.168.0.2);
- Subnet mask where you can see the value "255.255.255.0";
- A DNS server that displays a combination of "192.168.1.1" (192.168.0.1).

Wi-Fi Server Connection - WAN Setup
To configure the WAN in the browser, go to the WAN tab, where we are looking for PPPoE mode, we expose and store in the right places the data that were given to you by the provider in the contract, namely:
- Server Name;
- User Name;
- Primary DNS4
- Secondary DNS;
- Password.

Can I connect a Wi-Fi router to an existing modem?
Often, the house already has an ADSL modem. Then the newly acquired Wi-Fi router is easy to connect to it. For this, of course, use the Internet cable. One of its ends is inserted into the single LAN connector of the modem, and the second one is connected to the WAN connector by a router marked in blue.
