Behavior of guppies before delivery

Males begin to actively swim strictly for females, trying to touch the nose to a part of her body under the belly. Signs in female guppies before birth is an increase in the black spot on the side in the lower part of the body and meticulous behavior - the desire to hide in the thickets of algae, the secluded corners of the aquarium, closer to the bottom.

How do guppies look before delivery?

In females, the size of the body increases noticeably before delivery, and the abdomen becomes convex. Also there is a so-called "step" - this is a sharp difference between the head of the guppy and her belly. If you look at the female from above, it's easy to see its huge sides. Genera in these fish usually occur at night or early in the morning. How long does the guppies still have? Typically a few hours. After giving birth, the female guppies can be returned to the usual aquarium the next day. If the process does not begin at all, you can accelerate the birth of guppies, it's not as difficult as it seems. It is enough to raise the temperature of the water in the tank by several degrees.
