How to grow goji from seeds?

To begin with, it is necessary to select the planting material, because there are a lot of them in one fruit, and they are all different in size. The most affordable way to get goji seeds for cultivation is to get them out of dry berries. Beforehand, the fruits should be soaked for 2-3 hours in warm water. After they become soft, berries can be cut and extracted seeds. To improve germination, the smallest of them should be soaked in a growth stimulant or put in soaked tissue in a warm place for 7-10 days.

Seeding of goji seeds is simple enough. First, prepared seeds for planting a few pieces (enough to take 3-4) are located on the surface of the moistened soil pot and sprinkled with a layer of soil thickness of 2-3 mm. Then they should create greenhouse conditions. For this, we cover the container with polyethylene or glass and put it in a warm place.

From sowing to the appearance of entrances, care for goji seeds consists in keeping the soil constantly in a wet condition, preventing temperature fluctuations and the appearance of drafts. After germination, the container should be moved to a well-lit place, but make sure that the sprouts do not get direct sunlight.

The first transplant should be carried out when there are 2 pairs of real leaves. The pot should be deep enough (at least 7 cm in height), as the roots of this plant grow rapidly.

Transplanting to open ground is best planned for the second year of life. Just the shrub will have to bloom for the first time. In the future, special care for him will not be required. It will be enough to water regularly, feed with complex fertilizers and after 3 years you will be able to taste goji berries grown by yourself.
