Furniture from solid wood by own hands

The cheapness of chipboard materials makes it possible to produce relatively inexpensive furniture, but its fragility, not to mention the toxicity of some components, can quickly disappoint the landlady. Therefore, the number of masters who are engaged in the manufacture of furniture from the array with their own hands, greatly increased. In this example, we will uncover some of the tricks of this work and prove that it is possible to make simple objects for your house from edging boards or glued shields.

How to make furniture from the array with your own hands?

  1. The garden table can be assembled with a hacksaw, a manual circular saw, a drill, a screwdriver, a set of keys and several other tools.
  2. For the production of beautiful furniture from the solid wood we use a pine edging board of different lengths 30-40 mm thick.
  3. We make the markup according to the data of our drawing.
  4. Saw the board onto the blanks with a saw.
  5. We lay them out on the table and level the ends with an even rake or metal level.
  6. According to the marking, we install a transverse bar on top.
  7. Press the timber to the boards with clamps for fixing.
  8. Screws self-tapping countertop to the timber.
  9. To facilitate this work, you must first make thin holes in the boards with a drill in the fastening points.
  10. The same beam is screwed on the second side.
  11. We mark the table top and one more bar, which we will fasten in the center.
  12. We screw it with screws from the top.
  13. Mark the blanks for the legs at an angle of 45 °.
  14. We cut off the excess part according to the marking with a saw or a hacksaw.
  15. The oblique cut at 45 ° will be produced on the legs also on the other side. We produce markup here.
  16. First saw off the workpiece straight.
  17. Then you can cut at the selected angle.
  18. Using the first leg as a template, mark the remaining three blanks.
  19. We drill holes in the legs for bolts.
  20. We make a large hole under the head of the bolt.
  21. We drill a small hole under the thread.
  22. By placing the legs in place, we make the drilling of the bar under the bolts.
  23. We fasten the legs.
  24. Mark the legs at the bottom of the cross-beam attachment points.
  25. We make holes for the bolts.
  26. First, clamps fix the crossbar.
  27. Then in it we make holes for fixing.
  28. We fasten the workpiece to the legs with bolts.
  29. Our furniture made of solid wood, made by hand, must be strong. Therefore, the crossbeams are connected at an angle with the board with the central beam, which is bolted from below to the table top.
  30. Similarly we fix the diagonal bar in the second half of the table.
  31. The legs are connected by two longitudinal bars, which form convenient benches.
