Funicular in Madrid

The capital of Spain is a large metropolis with all kinds of modern urban transport, but not all visitors know that in Madrid there is also a tourist variant of transportation - a funicular (Teleferico).

The cableway in Madrid was built almost half a century ago in 1969 by specialists of the Swedish company Von-Rol, thus connecting by air the very center of the city with the largest park Casa de Campo , where one of the best zoos in Spain is located. It is kept in proper form, strictly observing preventive examinations and works, therefore in the 21st century Teleferico meets the most modern safety requirements. In addition, this is an important entertainment excursion route.

The station is located at Paseo de Pintor Rosales, in a small, modest former barn. The cable car line passes at an altitude of 40 meters above the ground, its length is 2.5 kilometers. You can stay in any of the five-seater of the 80 cabins and take an aerial excursion at a speed of about 3.5 m / s. In each cabin voices of announcers are heard in Spanish or English, which describe in detail those sights that you are consistently visible from the funicular:

The price of an adult "flight" to one side costs € 4, in both - € 5.8. Children under 3 years old are free of charge. You can reach the station by public transport : by metro L1, L3 and L6 and by city buses No. 21 and No. 74.
