Fashion of the 20-ies

"The Epoch of Jazz", "the era of silent cinema", "the mad twenties" - as soon as they did not call the second decade of the last century. But, probably, the most accurate definition for the 20-ies of the twentieth century could be the "era of change." People who survived, as it seemed then, the most terrible war, sought to enjoy a peaceful life. New rhythms in music, gaining popularity "cinematograph", fashion for sports, the next round of women's emancipation and, of course, revolutionary changes in fashion.

Women's fashion of the early 20th century

The significance of the 1920s in fashion and the history of its development can not be overestimated. After all, it is fashion of the 20s of the 20th century that we owe the appearance, for example, of a women's trouser suit (oddly enough from men's pajamas!) And a swimsuit, and not only that. Style and fashion of the 1920s were created by such legendary designers as Paul Poiret, Coco Chanel and Jean Patou. A kind of business cards for the fashion of the 1920s was the liberation of Poiret's female figure from the cramming corsets and, in 1926, the small black dress of Coco Chanel . Romantic curls were replaced by a "cold wave" on a short haircut, wide fields of ladies' hats gave way to laconic bonnets-cloch. In the fashion "Russian style". Even Coco Chanel decorates his models with Russian embroidery, and loose coats, decorated with fur on the collar and sleeves, are popular with women and men. But the most radical changes had to go through women's dresses and costumes.

Fashion 20's and dresses

New standards of female beauty dictated fashion to unprecedented hitherto fashioned women's outfits. The free strict cut of dresses and suits did not emphasize the waist - she had, rather, "guess". In return, the emphasis was on the hips - a silhouette of the outfit, a girdle or draperies. Modest geometrically correct forms of cuts did not open the chest, but often left naked remained back and arms. On evening dresses sleeves, as a rule, were absent (fashion in the 20s favored dresses on straps), or a compromise version in the form of sleeves-wings was possible. The elements of the decor were flounces and fringe. But the most revolutionary changes comprehended the feminine fashion of the early 20th century in terms of the length of the outfits. In the early 20-ies she reached the ankles, then rose to her knee, and in the late 20's the most desperate ladies wore dresses longer than the knee.

The 20s of the last century left an indelible mark on the history of fashion - we can easily recognize the elements of this style in modern models of the most prestigious fashion houses.
