Do I need a Schengen visa to Croatia?
On July 1, 2013, Croatia joined the European Union (EU), as a result of which it tightened the rules for the entry of foreigners into the country.
Previously, foreigners were free to visit any Croatian city without a visa. But as soon as Croatia became an EU country, it was decided to introduce a visa regime, which begins to act immediately after accession to the EU, that is, from July 1, 2013. A visa is not required for citizens in the presence of the following circumstances:
- you have a Schengen visa type C;
- multiple Schengen visa type D;
- a residence permit in Croatia or any other country that enters the Schengen zone.
How to get a visa to Croatia?
Croatia: Visa 2013 for Ukrainians
The existing preferential terms for Ukrainians have been lifted with the entry of Croatia into the EU. If earlier to visit the country in the summer it was enough to have only a valid passport, a tourist voucher and a return ticket, but now everything is different. Before Croatia joined the EU from April to November, a visa-free regime operated for Russians. However, now the rules have changed and to visit this country it is required to obtain a national visa. Obtaining a visa is possible when applying to the Embassy of Croatia in Moscow, Kaliningrad, or accredited travel companies. Since June 2013, practically throughout the whole territory of the Russian Federation, visa centers have been opened, where you can apply for a visa to Croatia.
The Consulate undertakes to issue a visa within five working days. In this case, the consular services are valued at $ 52. If you need an urgent visa to Croatia, the cost of services will be more expensive - $ 90. But the visa will be given to you in 1-3 days.
Russians need to submit the following documents for a visa to Croatia:
- a foreign passport whose validity must expire not earlier than 3 months after the proposed trip;
- a voucher confirming the reservation in the hotel or other document from the tour operator;
- color photograph 3.5 by 4.5 cm;
- medical insurance, valid for the duration of the stay in the hotel;
- receipt for payment of consulate services.
