This landmark is an amazing world, in which there are no boundaries between the prehistoric era and modernity, fiction and reality. Here you can return to the past several million years ago and learn about the nature and lifestyle of the oldest reptiles.
What is the famous Dinopark in Prague?
The official opening of the park took place in 2011. It was conceived as an entertainment for the visitors of the capital's shopping center, the Gallery of Harfa (Galerie Harfa). This is the youngest institution in the country, which is dedicated to the Mesozoic era.
It is aimed at children from 5 to 15 years, however, adults will also enjoy the visit. Dinopark occupies an area of 5 hectares. Here the atmosphere of the Jurassic period is created and 50 figures of prehistoric pangolins inhabiting the territory of Europe are located long before the appearance of mankind.
What to see?
Dinosaurs are made in real size, taking into account all the proportions, so they look very natural. Many figures are connected to the computer control system, and some of them are animated robots. They are able to make natural sounds (sizzle, roar) and move (about 7 movements), which also enhances the effect of reality.
Dinosaurs, although they are huge, but look good-natured, so they are not afraid even the kids. In the institution you can see such prehistoric reptiles as:
- deinonyh - its height is 2 m, and the length is 3 m;
- Styracosaurus - height 2 m, length 6 m;
- skolosavr - height of 2 m, length of 6 m;
- apatosaurus - height 3 m, length 7 m;
- brachiosaurus - height 3 m, length 8 m;

Landscape in Dinopark
The entire territory of the park imitates the landscape of the Jurassic period. Here are planted relatively young plants, but there is among them a rather rare specimen - the pine of Wollemia Nobilis (Wollemia Nobilis). It grew on the planet 175 million years ago and was considered extinct. It was purchased in Sydney at auction for a fairly high amount.
