What is most often done with old furniture? That's right, they throw it away. But if you put a little effort and imagination, you can remake the old furniture yourself. And it will not be worse than the one bought. But it will be an exclusive and original piece of furniture.
The process of reworking polished furniture with our own hands consists of several main stages:

- putty for wood;
- glue;
- sandpaper of various granularity;
- paint for wood;
- furniture varnish;
- tools for work.
- Cleaning of the old chest should start with wiping it with a sponge soaked in a warm solution of laundry soap that does not contain chlorine. After this, it is necessary to dry the dresser well. Remove all accessories in advance, so as not to interfere with cleaning the surfaces of the chest. Dirty sandpaper is well cleaned of dirty dirt and plaque. Only use it carefully, as excessive friction can damage the cover of the chest.
- Now it's time to repair our chest of drawers and replace the broken parts, if any. Have not found a similar detail - it does not matter, order it in the carpenter's workshop. Check and tighten all bolts and screws. If any of them are rusty, replace them with new ones. If there are small cracks in the wooden parts of the dresser - grease them with glue for wood. Large cracks and faults in the wooden coating can be covered with putty, which must be selected in the tone of the tree. Allow the product to dry well, sand and ground with fine-grained sandpaper.
- The turn of the painting of our dresser came with white paint. After the paint dries well, you can cover the dresser with a transparent furniture varnish to create a beautiful glossy surface.
