Benign neoplasm

Annually in the world many cases of development of tumors are registered. Fortunately, most of them are benign neoplasms. They represent an accumulation of abnormal cells in various organs that have atypical properties for normal tissues. As a rule, benign tumors develop very slowly, often there is no tendency to growth at all.

The main types of benign neoplasms

There are such types of considered cell clusters:

  1. Fibroma. The tumor consists of a connective fibrous tissue. Most often occurs on the female genitalia, rarely found under the skin.
  2. Neurofibroma. Another name is Recklinghausen's disease. Characterized by a large number of subcutaneous fibroids and pigmented spots, accompanied by inflammation of the nerves.
  3. Lipoma. Also, the tumor is known as the adipose . It occurs on any part of the body, under the skin.
  4. Papilloma. A cumulative tumor originates from infection with the human papillomavirus .
  5. Chondroma. The accumulation of altered cells of the cartilaginous tissue. It grows on the joints of the limbs, it slowly develops.
  6. Cyst. Often, these benign tumors are found in the liver and stomach, on the bones, peritoneal organs, the reproductive system, the membranes of the brain. They are cavities filled with fluid or exudate.
  7. Neurinoma. A benign nodule that develops on the nerve roots of the spinal cord and peripheral nerves.
  8. Neuroma. The tumor is similar to a neurin, but can occur in any parts of the nervous system.
  9. Osteoma. Congenital neoplasm, localized on bone tissue, from it also consists.
  10. Myoma. The tumor develops in the muscular tissue of the female genital organs. Myoma is a capsule with a dense base.
  11. Angioma. Neoplasm consists of blood vessels, is diagnosed on the mucous membranes of the mouth, lips, cheeks.
  12. Hemangioma. A tumor analogous to angiomy has the appearance of a birthmark with dilated capillaries.
  13. Lymphangioma. The growth is observed on the lymph nodes, is congenital.
  14. Adenoma. Refers to benign neoplasms of the thyroid gland, but it can develop on other glandular tissues.
  15. Glioma. With respect to growth and flow, the tumor is similar to angioma, but consists of neuroglia cells.
  16. Ganglioneuroma. As a rule, congenital pathology. It is a dense formation in the abdominal cavity.
  17. Paraganglioma. Also congenital tumor. One of the few benign cell clusters that allows metastases.

Prophylaxis of benign neoplasms

It is impossible to prevent the development of tumors, since the reasons for their growth are often unknown. But doctors still advise to adhere to the rules of healthy eating, lifestyle, have a full rest and regularly visit an oncologist for preventive examination.
