Albrook Airport

One and a half kilometers from the center of Panama City is Albrook Airport, one of the two international airports serving the capital of Panama. Its full name is "Albruck International Airport Marcos A. Helabert." It is named after the outstanding Panamanian pilot, one of the founders of the first Panamanian airline and the creator of the first flight school in the state.

The airport was opened in 1999 on the site of the former airfield of the same name of the Air Force of the country. Today airplanes leave for this city to many cities in Panama; International flights to Costa Rica and Colombia are also carried out. At the airport is the headquarters of Air Panama.

The services

Airport Albrook provides its passengers with a full list of necessary services: there is a waiting room, a medical center, there is a car rental service. There is parking near the airport.

Future plans

By 2019, it is planned to move the airport of Marcos A. Helabert from Albrook to Howard - after the completion of the construction of the fourth bridge across the Panama Canal . In Howard, there is more space - including in order to build hangars and longer runways. It is assumed that this step will bring the airport of Heplabert to a new level, making it truly international. In Albrook, thanks to its proximity to the port and the railway, there will remain a logistics center.

How to get to Albrook Airport?

Since the airport is almost in the center of the city, it's easy to get to it: there is a metro line, there are regular buses: from Parque Pacora - every 10 minutes, from Las Paredes - every 12 minutes, from Estacion Parador Panamericana Estacion 24 de Diciembre - every half an hour.
