The star of the series "Charmed" and "Beverly Hills-90210" actress Shannen Doherty last year does not come off the front pages of newspapers. However, as a rule, all these news relate to the very sad side of life Shannen: the actress has been fighting breast cancer for a year and a half. Touching words on the show "Chelsea"

The other day Doherty became the guest of the Chelsea show of the famous TV presenter, actress and comedian Hendler on Netflix. The main topic of conversation was the terrible disease Doherty. Shannen described her life this way:

"When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was crushed, shocked and frightened. Now I understand that in this disease there is something beautiful, unusual and, of course, difficult. Cancer made me a completely different person. Whenever I started treatment, I thought I would stay the same, but now I understand that this disease kills us and builds again, then again kills, and again we are reborn, albeit quite different people. I remember what I was like a year ago. I thought that my main qualities were indulgence and courage. And now I understand that behind this I was only hiding from reality. In fact, it was necessary not to be afraid, but simply to break and change yourself. It was necessary to rethink a lot and accept what is happening to you. "

Doherty will receive a reward for courage

Shannen is one of the first Hollywood stars who so openly tells and shows fragments of her life in the fight against cancer. Her pictures of how she shaves her head due to strong hair loss, made the actress the most popular star of the decade struggling with cancer. Despite the fact that Shannen suffered a unilateral mastectomy, the cancer continued to spread further. Now the actress has to go through chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the result after which no doctor can predict. Doherty has already announced that she plans to shoot all these tests, and publish photos on the Internet. On November 5, the American Cancer Society in Los Angeles will award Shannen a prize for courage.

By the way, the actress once said in one of her interviews:

"The worst thing about cancer treatment is uncertainty. None of the doctors will say that all those suffering and pain after chemotherapy will bring a positive result. Now I am most frightened by the fact that I can not plan my future, because I do not know how much longer I will live. "
