It is believed that the Russian spaniel is more enduring for their fellow Cocker Spaniels or representatives of other English breeds, from which they originated. These beautiful animals were specially created for harsh hunting conditions in Russia. The longest-legged and energetic local individuals who were crossed with purebred hunting dogs were selected. It was possible to bring a strong, strong, mobile and intelligent hunting breed of dogs, but nevertheless they also need some special care.

Care of a Russian spaniel puppy is not much different from the keeping of a dog of another similar hunting breed. At the age of one month they are given a mushy food or soup. Take care that he does not overeat, but was full. After feeding, the bowl is immediately taken, washed, and filled with clean water. Feeding begins at five o'clock, and then the next meal every 3-3.5 hours, six times a day until two and a half months. Then the frequency of meals decreases. Up to 3.5 months already fed 5 times, up to five months - four times, from seven months old the puppy will already have enough to eat twice a day.

It's good if our kids have food of high quality and quality. In their diet should be raw or wiped vegetables, cereals, ground beef, calcined cottage cheese. Dairy products almost all fit these puppies - yogurt, kefir, whey, milk. Do not forget about the mineral supplements and fish oil, which begins to give with 10 drops and is adjusted gradually and two teaspoons per day.

Care for the wool of the Russian spaniel is to carefully comb it and clean it a couple of times a week. Inspect their fur after walking in nature, and bathe every two to three weeks. It is necessary to regularly cut the hair near the auricles so that it does not irritate the animal, and also near the anus. Fully cut them once every two or three months in special salons or independently.

We do not forget that Russian spaniels are a hunting breed, care for them is not only in periodic qualitative feeding, but also in regular walks. Twice a day they must run on nature, enjoying the open space, overcome obstacles. If the street is very cold, then you can limit the time of walking to 15-20 minutes.
