Fashion trends in the field of hairdressing art do not cease to amaze. One of the most unusual trends is pixel staining of hair. This technique has appeared relatively recently, but has already won many admirers, especially among Hollywood stars and models.
What is pixel coloration?
This technique is a layered hair color. It is performed in such a way that when strands are applied to each other, a geometric pattern is created that resembles the figures from the games "Tetris" or "Space Invaders".
An important role is played not only by the clarity and accuracy of the image, but also by its hue. Pixel coloring of hair assumes presence of bright multi-colored squares, therefore the prepared areas of ringlets should be preliminary clarified.
Technique of pixel hair dyeing
Make a full-fledged pixel art at home is quite difficult, especially with no experience and skills. But if you really want to try, it's better to start with a small and convenient site for work - bangs.
Here's how to make pixel hair coloring:
- Carefully comb and straighten the curls. Separate the upper wide layer of bangs and fasten it with a hair clip.
- From the remaining volume of hair, separate one more thin wide strand, place under it special paper for coloring or just a piece of thick cellophane. Divide the strand into two identical parts, apply a clarifier in the form of a pixel to each of them so that one square is located higher and the second one is lower.
- Cover the treated hair with a thin cellophane or food film. It is important to ensure that there is no displacement. From the braced area of the bangs to take half of the curls, comb it with a frequent comb and also divide it in two, as in the paragraph above.
- Apply the clarifier so that the squares are located exactly above or below those that were drawn in the previous stage.
- Repeat the manipulation of the film, process the last remaining part of the bang. In this case, you need to lighten the hair exactly in the same place as on the first strand.
- Wait until the worked areas become discolored and similarly paint them in the selected color, for example, red.
- Wash hair, dry and straighten, apply a fixing varnish to the bang.
What happens pixel coloring of hair?
There is no clear classification of the method of staining, as each master tries to improve it, using his imagination. So far the following varieties are known:
- pixel decoration of bangs;
- radical coloring;
- partial painting on the side or back;
- full pixel painting of the entire volume of strands.
It is easy to guess that in the first case only the bangs are exposed. For a good appearance, it should be thick and long enough, not above the eyebrow line.
The second type of pixel hair dyeing is one of the most difficult, since you need to process a very large number of strands, starting with the roots. It is important that the graphic pattern is retained for different laying and random selection.
Partial coloring looks like a print, looks unusual and very impressive, especially on dark hair.
Full coloring with pixels is not an easy task. In this case, you need to achieve perfectly clear boundaries between the colored squares and the smooth geometry of the drawing.
It is worth noting that in pixel coloring you can combine several shades, both close in tone and very contrasting.
Despite the beauty and unusualness of the described method of coloring, the stylists treat him rather skeptically. Masters recognize that pixel art is great for fashion shows and spectacular appearances in public, but as a routine design for a hairstyle, it is not practical. The fact is that such coloring looks good only on perfectly even hair. The slightest whiff of wind or the appearance of wavy strands due to the humidity of the air will instantly spoil the hair and create the impression that the locks simply have colored spots. In addition, the hair grows quickly, which also violates the graphics of the drawing.
