Prophecies of holy people always aroused genuine interest among believers. One of the most frightening are the predictions of the elder Seraphim Vyritsky, many of whom make us think about the future.
The Monk Seraphim Vyritsky was born on March 31, 1886 in one of the villages located in the Rybinsk district of the Yaroslavl province. During the baptism, parents suddenly changed his name - henceforth he was called Basil.
Since childhood, Basil's mother taught him to love God. He quickly mastered the math, and learned the language according to the Gospel and the Psalter. Fashionable then French novels, he preferred biographies of hermits - Macarius, Mary of Egypt, Paul of Thebes. Working as a clerk in his youth, Seraphim visited the monasteries in different cities. He made donations to temples, and his enthusiasm for helping those in need would be enriched by modern volunteers.
Seraphim predicted the coming of Antichrist
In 1927, Basil takes the schema of Seraphim, thus giving a tribute to Seraphim of Sarov. The first to come true his prediction was the war with the fascists and persecutions against Orthodox churches. To one of his disciples the elder said that the golden age of Orthodoxy would come again in Russia, but it would not be possible to preserve it for a long time. When the pupil asked him what the country was waiting for in the distant future, Seraphim advised him to look out the window.
"... There will come a time when there will be a spiritual flowering in Russia. Many temples and monasteries will open, even gentiles will come to us to be baptized on such ships as you see now. But this is not for long - about 15 years, then the Antichrist will come. "
St. Ignatius interpreted the words of Seraphim:
"Go, go worse than the waves of a worldwide flood that destroyed the whole human race, waves of lies and darkness surround, are ready to devour the universe from all sides, destroy faith in Christ, destroy His kingdom on earth, suppress His teachings, damage morals, blunt, destroy conscience, establish the dominion of the all-embracing world-master. In the means of our salvation we will use the escape commanded by the Lord. Where is that blessed ark, like Noah's ark of the righteous, where could one escape from the waves that surround everywhere, where one could find reliable salvation? "
A spooky spiritual flood, which everyone should fear, has already begun: young people prefer to hide their lives from adults, most marriages end in divorce, and sincere relations between people will soon fall into the Red Book.

Seraphim was sure that sooner or later the eastern countries with their cult of high fertility would overtake the Christian countries in terms of population.

"There will come a time when Russia will be torn apart. First it will be divided, and then they will begin to plunder wealth. The West will in every possible way contribute to the destruction of Russia and will give up its eastern part to China. The Far East will be taken to the hands of the Japanese, and Siberia - the Chinese, who will migrate to Russia, marry the Russians and in the end cunning and cunning will take the territory of Siberia to the Urals. When China wants to go further, the West will oppose and will not allow it. "
Seraphim also spoke of a new war - did he mean the third world war?
"Many countries will take up arms against Russia, but it will stand, having lost most of its land. This war, about which the Holy Scripture narrates and the prophets speak, will become the cause of the unification of mankind. People will understand that it is impossible to live this way, otherwise all living things will perish - this will be the threshold of the accession of Antichrist. Then there will come a persecution of Christians, when the echelons will leave for Russia from the cities, we must hurry to be among the first, as many of those who remain will perish. There comes a kingdom of lies and evil. It will be so hard, so bad, so terrible, that God forbid to live up to that time. We will not live with you. "
Like many philosophers, the elder placed all the hopes for saving the future for young people
Seraphim believed that one day young men and girls would be bored with constant entertainment and frivolity and they would prefer the faith to fleeting passions.
"But the time will come when there will be a voice of God, when the youth will understand that it is impossible to live like this, and they will go to faith in different ways, and the desire for asceticism will increase. Those who were before sinners, drunkards, will fill the temples, feel a great thirst for spiritual life. Many of them will become monks, monasteries will be opened, churches will be full of believers. Then young people will go on pilgrimage to holy places - glorious time will be! What is now sinning - so hot will repent. Like a candle before it goes out, it flares brightly, illuminating everything with the last light, so does the life of the Church. And this time is close. "
You can be skeptical of Seraphim's words, but you can not refute the fact that he clearly represented what the modern world will be like.
