Mirror ceilings

Mirrored ceilings are a modern decorative solution that will bring elegance and triumph to any interior. Mostly these ceilings are placed in places with high traffic capacity: office premises, hotels, bars, train stations, shopping centers and discotheques. However, designers were able to organically paint mirrored ceilings in living quarters and now many customers agree to such experiments.

Mirror ceilings have the following qualities:

The main drawbacks of mirrored ceilings can be attributed to the fact that they are fragile and rather quickly polluted. Any stains can be seen on the illuminated mirror surface. Also, before laying the mirror tiles, you need to level the ceiling.

Types of mirror ceilings

Depending on the type of material used, the ceilings are divided into several types.

  1. Tiled ceiling . Use a mirror tile on the ceiling. On the leveled ceiling surface are mounted square or diamond-shaped tiles, and the ceiling is divided into segments. Installation of the tile is done using glue or screws. An analogue of a tile can be an integral mirror, however it causes difficulties during installation.
  2. Rack mirrored ceiling . Used mirror plastic panels, covered with a mirror film for the ceiling. The surface of the panels can have constituent parts or be absolutely smooth. The rack-mounted ceiling sits on the cement or screwed with screws. The main advantage of this coating is its flexibility, and the disadvantage is a slight flammability and distortion of the surface.
  3. Mirror suspended ceilings . For the ceiling, a PVC film with a reflective effect is used. Unlike glass on the film, the reflection turns out to be blurred, only outlines and shades are visible. Suspended ceilings are mounted on special ceiling profiles, without having to level the ceiling. In addition, the installation of the tensioning structure takes a little time and eliminates dusty work.

In addition to materials, there are several types of reflection: opaque, reflective and glass light-transparent. On the mirror, you can apply a color or colorless pattern, which is selected by personal order.

Mirror ceiling in the interior of the apartment

The use of reflective ceilings is practiced periodically in apartments and houses. Most of the mirror ceiling can be found in the bathroom. Designers do not advise the use of tiles and solid mirrors in bathrooms, as they will leave traces of condensate that will be problematic to wash. Ideal solution - tension or rack ceiling. These coatings do not accumulate condensate and are resistant to fungus.

The mirror ceiling in the corridor looks original. It increases the small space of the hallway and is an excellent business card of the apartment. A tiled ceiling is suitable for the corridor. Strict geometric shapes and the absence of excess ceiling decor do not harm the corridor, but, on the contrary, make it stylish and concise.

If you decide to use a mirror ceiling in the kitchen, then it's better to turn to the stretch ceilings. The rack ceiling is not suitable because of its rapid flammability, and the glass surfaces will collect fat and fumes from the plate.

For the most visited rooms - living room and bedroom, any type of cover is suitable. Here you can experiment with the decor, combine several different materials and create multi-level designs. Pay attention to the spotlights - they will make the room elegant and will be beautifully reflected from the glossy surface of the ceiling.
