LED backlight by hands

Some craftsmen try to make an LED ribbon with their own hands. But for this we need components, special tools and good skills. Easier to buy switches, power supply and finished product of the right length, immediately proceeding with installation work.

Installing an LED ribbon with your own hands

1. We measure the tape in place and start to work.
2. Top glued PVC corner 10x10. Visually, the backlight will look nicer and the direction of the rays will change.
3. LED backlighting should be powered from somewhere. To do this, a junction box should be provided in the cabinet.
4. In each shelf, it is necessary to make holes in order to pass the wire.
5. Wiring will be placed in the cable channels. We cut off the billets of the required length with the Bulgarian.
6. We install the channels between the shelves into place.
7. Mount the corner and cable channels can be pointwise liquid nails.
8. LED ceiling itself often have to be done in a hard-to-reach place (in hollow structures, between the ceiling of the cabinet and the ceiling of the room). To facilitate the pulling of the wire, we use a conductor - a piece of hard wire with a hook at the end.
9. We fill the cable in the channels and close them with plugs.
10. Cut off the desired piece of corner and with liquid nails fix it to the ceiling of the cabinet.
11. Remove excess glue with a blade and a rag soaked in a solvent.
12. Note the node where you have a positive wire, and where the minus. Later, to consider marking at the top will be much more difficult.
13. The LED tape is self-adhesive. First remove the protective layer.
14. We glue the tape to the ceiling.
15. It is fastened quite easily, it's just necessary to produce the work carefully. Likewise, LED lighting of the ceiling in other rooms, cabinets or niches is done by oneself.
16. In the closets you need to install limit switches. They allow you to turn off the backlight when the doors are fully closed.
17. We check how our design works. The first time we connect the tape directly to the transformer, bypassing the limit switch.
18. If everything is normal, then you can install the door, fix the switches and check the operation of the LED strip in action.

If you are a little familiar with the wiring, then install the LED ceiling with your own hands or make the illumination of the closet will not be difficult. This lighting is safe, it is powered by a low voltage current and looks very impressive.
