Japanese breeds of dogs

If you are puzzled by choosing a dog for yourself or just an amateur of these pets, we suggest you read the description of Japanese dog breeds. Despite the fact that they share some common features (all of them are derived in Japan and refer to decorative rocks), these animals are very different in appearance and in their character.

Breed of dogs Japanese Spitz

The standard of this breed says that Japanese Spitz are medium-sized decorative dogs (30-40 cm at the withers). They have standing ears and a fluffy tail, which should fit snugly to the back. The real Japanese spitzes retain the proportion of body height to its length - 10:11. A special distinguishing feature of the "Japanese" is its white wool (they do not have other colors). The owners of these dogs argue that the hair of Spitz does not get dirty: it just does not get dirty! Another feature of Japanese Spitz is their temper - cheerful and cheerful regardless of age. They get on well with other dogs of their sex and even cats. And the Spitzes are excellent in training.

Breed of Japanese hin dogs

They are also decorative dogs, sometimes called Japanese spaniels. Animals of this breed are small, they weigh from 1.8 to 3.5 kg. In terms of color, the standard is very rigid: the Japanese hin should only be white-red or white-black. Hines with wool of other shades are considered the culling of the breed. Soft, resembling silk, hina hair is usually of medium length, on the ears, tail and neck it is slightly longer than anywhere else. As for the character of the Japanese chin, he is usually calm and quiet, although occasionally there are proud and capricious specimens. Hina without problems can be kept in the apartment - it does not require much space and almost no noise. However, these dogs are sociable and very devoted to the owners.

Dog breed Japanese terrier

Unlike described above, this breed is very rare, it is distributed mainly in Japan, in the homeland of these dogs. The Japanese terrier (or nippon terrier) was bred in the 1920s by crossing the fox terrier with the "aborigines" - the indigenous dogs of Japan. Japanese terriers are small, strong, square dogs with a black head and a white body with black spots. Their wool is short, smooth. The growth of "Japanese" is 20-30 cm, and the body weight varies from 4 to 6 kg. Dogs of this breed have a lively, cheerful disposition, they are active and mobile animals.

Breed of Japanese Akita dogs

Japanese Akita Inu is one of the oldest breeds of dogs: they existed before our era. In ancient times, Akita were considered hunting dogs, they were called "matagi ken", which in Japanese means "hunter of a large beast". However, one should not confuse Japanese Akit with American ones, which are derived by crossing inu with a German shepherd. Unlike other breeds of domestic Japanese dogs, Akita is much larger. Males have growth at the withers of 64-70 cm and weight of 35-40 kg. Body weight of bitches is slightly less - 30-35 kg. Akita-inu, as they often call this breed, can have three varieties of color:

Akita can be kept at home or in the open-air cage. They are active, cheerful dogs who like long walks in the fresh air. Speaking of Akita, it is impossible not to mention the famous dog Hatiko. This dog became the legend of Japan. For 9 years he came to the station at the same time every day to meet his beloved host, who had not been alive for a long time. Now there is a monument to Khatiko at this station, and a touching feature film was made about his loyalty to the master.
