Restoration of the old chair takes relatively little time. It depends on how you decided to remake the old chair - just change the upholstery, paint it or make a fashionable recently decoupage. It is clear that changing the upholstery will take the least time, painting - a little more, and decoupage of the old chair is generally a long and complex process, requiring special knowledge. The decor of the old chair opens up a huge number of opportunities for a creative person who appreciates the beauty and comfort of his home.

So, in order to restore the old chair, we will need:
- acrylic paint;
- varnish for coating;
- foam rubber;
- scissors or a knife;
- fabric for upholstery;
- construction stapler and staples;
- paint brush;
- sandpaper.
Having prepared everything we need, we can proceed directly to restoration:
- Initially we had such a shabby, old, nondescript chair of dirty beige.
- It is necessary to remove the seat and the old varnish. To do this, take the sandpaper, and the hard side of the "hide" chair. In this case, do not bother with sharp movements - they should be smooth and superficial. After this, once again, "walk" a shallow skin on the surface of the chair, removing roughness and jaggies.
- Now your chair is ready for painting. In this case, you can choose a paint of any color, suitable exactly for your interior.
- After coloring the stool, set it aside until it dries completely. Advice: the paint can not dry for an hour, so do not touch the stool again, leaving ugly marks on the surface. If you have covered a chair with acrylic paint, then after completely drying it will have to be covered with varnish. To do this, use a paint brush or compressor, spray varnish, which must first be diluted with a solvent in proportions one to one. I think it's not worth talking about that you can not touch the chair until the varnish dries completely.
- In the meantime, you can do upholstering! Take a piece of foam rubber, put on it an old sitting chair and circle it along the contour with a contrasting felt-tip pen.
- Next, cut out your new soft seating with a dummy knife or scissors. Take the construction stapler and fix the foam on the seat of the chair, pressing it from above with a flannel cloth, as seen in the picture below.
- Take the upholstery fabric. Choose dense, high-quality fabrics, artificial leather or tapestries. They are durable and less susceptible to mechanical damage. Cutting the fabric in the shape of the seat should be left approximately 10-15 cm on the allowance, and if the edges of the fabric are split - tuck them several times, seizing with a seam.
- Stretching the fabric on the seat, fix the matter in the corners to make it stretched evenly, without wrinkles. Attach the material with a construction stapler to the seat of the chair.
- With the help of glue, a construction stapler or small studs, fix the seat on a dried chair, and, voila, you got a completely renovated, modern chair that perfectly fits your interior!
