It should be remembered that there is no such approved list of cities that are usually called the Golden Ring of Russia. The very term "Golden Ring of Russia" was born in the 60s of the 20th century and implies ancient settlements located in the central part of the Russian Federation. It is considered that the small Golden Ring of Russia includes eight settlements:

- Pereslavl-Zalessky;

The most convenient mode of transport for visiting the main cities of the Golden Ring of Russia will be a car. The route of the trip around the Golden Ring of Russia with departure from Moscow will be as follows:
- Sergiev Posad . A trip from Moscow to the first point of the route will take about an hour and a half.
