Flower beds from stones

In order to decorate the site near the house, you can break a flower bed . If you want to make it permanent, then it's better to make of strong materials, such as natural stones or concrete. In this article we will tell you how to make a flower bed of stones with your own hands.

Under the flower bed, where flowers will grow, you should choose a place in front of the house, so it will decorate the lawn and delight guests coming to you.

Master class - how to lay a bed of stones

For this we need:

• red bricks;
• wooden beams;
• measuring instruments (level, ruler with an angle);
• mixture of peat with humus and earth;
• black polyethylene film;
• hammer, scissors, shovel.

Progress:

1. At the selected location, lay out the first row of flower beds of rectangular shape. For the angles to be exactly 90 °, use a ruler or square.
2. In the corners from the inner and outer sides we drive wooden pegs. It is necessary that in the course of further work they do not shift.
3. Check the level of the height of parallel sides. If one of them is higher, then we correct this by digging a trench under it.
4. The second row is staggered in relation to the first. In order for the flowerbed to be stable, we have the stones as shown in the photo.
5. We lay out 6 rows in this way.
6. We cover the inner space of our flower bed with a polyethylene film. We need 2 canvases for this: one is laid along, and the other is across. We do this so that in the future we do not grow weeds among the flowers.
7. Fill the flower bed with the prepared mixture.
8. The ends of the film are stretched on the stones and fixed by the seventh row. The edges of polyethylene should not stick out from under them, so the excess immediately cut off.

Flower beds of stones with their own hands can be done with cement or glue, connecting them with building material.

The design of a bed of stone is not only a geometric form (rectangle, square or circle), but in the form of any figures or ornament. To produce them, you just need smaller stones.

In addition to this method of creating places for growing flowers, there are others. One of the most popular is the design of a flower bed of flat stones or slabs of slabs.

You just need to dig a trench about 10 cm deep around the perimeter, and lay small gravel on its bottom.

Then we put one on another layers of large plates, placing them in a staggered order, until we reach the required height.
