The name of the airport in Skopje is associated with an interesting, or rather scandalous story. The thing is that in 2006, representatives of Greece demanded to rename the airport, since the name of Alexander the Great is considered a historical heritage of both Macedonians and Greeks. As you can see, the airport still retains its original name.
