Wet facade

When it comes to the exterior decoration of the house, plaster is a win-win option among many different materials. This is a great way to give the building a beautiful view and at the same time to insulate the walls.

Today, one of the popular and effective types of exterior decoration is the installation of a wet plaster facade. Such an unusual name this system received because of the content of water-soluble materials, which are laid on the walls by layers, creating protection of the house from moisture and excellent thermal insulation. The wet facade system includes several layers of decorative plaster, which makes it possible to warm the building and originalize it. More details about the technology of application and features of this system of exterior decoration of the house you will find in our article.

What is the wet plaster of the facade?

The main role of this multi-layer wall pie is to create excellent heat and sound insulation of the walls. Thanks to the many materials used, the wet facade can last for several decades, and this, you will agree, is very convenient and economical. In addition, you can install the construction on almost any surface, whether it be brick , concrete or plywood.

Before proceeding to finish the exterior walls of the house with a wet plaster of the facade, it is necessary to carry out a number of preparatory works. Firstly, in order to get the most flat surface of the house, it is necessary to clean the remains of the old finish, which are kept unreliable. If the old layer is well fixed, then it can immediately apply a heater and the main layer of the wet facade, after removing all the mounds and dents. If you apply the wet facade system from scratch, then first you need to coat the walls with a primer. Then a special glue mixture is applied to the surface, over which a fiberglass reinforcing mesh is laid. Thus, it is possible to get rid of cracks and dents on the walls.

When everything is ready, you can proceed to install a temporary support for the most important layer - thermal insulation. Metal rack-holders are fixed horizontally along the perimeter of the whole building with the help of dowels in the place where the border of the socle with the facade passes. In the future, these panels will retain the insulation of the wet facade.

The most common materials for thermal insulation at home are slabs of mineral wool or polystyrene foam. The heater is fastened row by row to the prepared metal socle profiles. Plates on the wall are fixed using special dowels. If you decide to use expanded polystyrene, then for installation you can use a special glutinous mixture, and then dowels with the calculation of 6-10 units per one plate.

When everything is ready and the facade is completely covered with a heater, you can proceed to apply the main decorative layer - the plaster of the wet facade. A water-based material is applied to the walls in a liquid form. After finishing the entire structure, you need to dry it thoroughly. Upon completion of work, if necessary, you can paint the surface of the wet facade with a special paint or cover with another layer of decorative plaster. This will make the building more vivid, and the right color scheme will give an excellent taste to the owners of the house and make the house an object of admiration for the neighbors.

For more interesting decoration of the exterior walls of a private house, many prefer to do a texture coating using plaster for a wet facade bark beetle. It is very practical, durable and promotes reliable heat retention, preventing the appearance of dampness and fungus on the walls.
