In rooms with high operational loads, such as kitchen, hallway, it is advisable to use washable paint for walls.
Its name was obtained because of the possibility of subsequently producing a wet cleaning of the walls covered with it, using even some detergents, with the exception of abrasive and very corrosive.
Washable inks have different degrees of gloss, they are matte, semi-matt and glossy. The choice depends on the preferences of the owners, the general orientation of the interior design. It should only be taken into account that for walls or individual zones subject to frequent washing, a variant of a semi-gloss or glossy paint should be chosen.
Textured and latex washable paint
Latex washable paint, being the most wear-resistant, has been used with great success for painting the walls in the kitchen. It is resistant to abrasion, it is "breathable", that is, a vapor permeable material, which is a very important factor promoting its use in a room like a kitchen, characterized by high humidity. The walls, for the finishing of which latex washable paint is applied, are not susceptible to the appearance of mold and fungus on them.
Latex washable paint is easily applied to plastered, concrete surfaces, it can paint brick walls, gypsum boards, non-woven or fiberglass wallpaper, plasterboard.
Latex formulations are the most expensive, but they have the highest performance in comparison with analogues, and high drying speed.
Often used for walls in the kitchen is a textured material, it is convenient because before applying it you do not need to thoroughly prepare the surface.
Using a textured washable paint used for walls in the kitchen, it is possible to create a relief surface with patterns that differ from the usual painted wall with its decorative, aesthetic appearance. Textured paint, which includes silicone, is able to hide the small cracks available on the surface of the wall, which will avoid their pre-puttying.
Textured paint, having the appearance of a viscous homogeneous mass, is very easy to apply, firmly adheres to the surface being treated, and it creates a hard and weatherproof coating. Paint can create a decorative relief layer of up to 3 mm, on walls of concrete, brick, plastered surfaces.
