A pedestal for shoes is practically an integral part of many hallways. It differs favorably from the open shelves by the fact that in this pedestal the shoes are less dusty, and do not attract attention to themselves, being beyond the doors of the pedestal. Today we will look at how to make a simple shoe cabinet for shoes in the hallway with your own hands.
Materials and Tools
The pedestal for shoes will be made of plywood. We will need:
- 1 piece of thick (12 mm) glued plywood, about 70 by 35 cm in size for the cap of the cabinet;
- 2 details of plywood of the same thickness for the side walls (their size is 55x30.5 cm);
- 1 piece is thinner, in 6 mm, plywood (65x30.5 cm). From it we will make the back wall;
- 1 piece in the size of 61x30, 5 cm for the bottom (Footrest for shoes with their own hands 1);
- 1 or 2 doors;

- glue for wood;

How to make a shoe box for your shoes?
To assemble the cabinet for shoes in the hallway with our own hands, we will use a screwdriver. If you want to give additional strength to the structure, then first you need to fasten the parts with wood glue, and then screw in the screws.
- We fix the top cover on the side walls. Here you can use only glue, so that the structure after painting or coating with varnish looked more aesthetically, without hats from screws on the table top.
- Using a screwdriver attach to the walls of the lower part of the cabinet. The shoe cabinet is ready.
- To make the structure more rigid, we attach a piece from the rear, which will further pull all the parts together.
- Also screws fix the shelf inside the cabinet.
- We fasten the handles to the doors. We fasten the metal hinges and fasten the doors to them. Depending on your idea, there may be two or one.
- The curbstone is ready. If desired, it can be screwed on the legs or simply add rubber cushions to the corners at the bottom so that it does not scratch the floor covering.
