The history of the Holy Trinity Church in Chelyabinsk

The history of the Holy Trinity Church in the city of Chelyabinsk begins in the distant 18th century. It was then, in 1768, in the river part of the city, and the first church of the Holy Trinity was laid. It was a modest building made of wood, which existed in its original form only until the beginning of the 20th century. Then in 1910 it was decided to build the Holy Trinity Church in Chelyabinsk on this site. This was made for a reason, after all, a century and a half after the birth, the Holy Trinity Church managed to dilapidate and completely lost itself against the background of other churches in Chelyabinsk. The construction was carried out in record time for those times, and already in 1914 the church was consecrated. But, unfortunately, it was not for long to remain active Holy Trinity Church. Already in 5 years, revolutionary winds swept up to this part of Russia, and the temple was given to the power of Soviet institutions. It should be noted that against the background of other religious buildings of the city, the Holy Trinity Church reached our days with the least losses. Part of this happened due to the fact that most of the time it was under the jurisdiction of the Chelyabinsk Museum of Local History, whose employees took care of church property with care. And only in 1990 the church was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church.

Holy Trinity Church, Chelyabinsk - our time

Since the end of the 20th century and to our days in the Trinity Church in Chelyabinsk, restoration work has not ceased, designed to restore its former grandeur. As a result of the long painstaking work, a unique painting in the Vasantets style returned to the walls of the temple. It was possible to restore and unique acoustics of the temple, thanks to which choral singing and the chapel in it acquires the effect of stereo sound.

Although today the Holy Trinity Church is somewhat lost on the background of the rest of the buildings in Chelyabinsk, but it does not threaten its former oblivion. At the end of 2011, the exterior decoration of the church was supplemented with modern illumination, which made it noticeable at any time of the day.

Shrine of the Holy Trinity Church in Chelyabinsk

The largest temple in the city, the temple of the Holy Trinity is famous not only for its architecture and interior decoration, but also for its sacred objects. One of them - the relics of the Apostle Andrew the First-Called - was returned to the temple in 2008 with the blessing of the Patriarch of All Russia Alexy II.

The relics of St. Panteleimon for many years were gathering dust in the storerooms of the museum of local lore, or only thanks to the efforts of the rector of the temple, "Tear My Sorrows" returned to their rightful place in the Holy Trinity Church. It should be noted that these powers have a miraculous power - in 2002, after applying to them, the girl who was in a coma was healed for a long time. There is a miraculous icon of the Sign of the Mother of God in the Trinity Church, who healed in 1911 from a grave illness the daughter of one of the Chelyabinsk philistines. In addition, in the Holy Trinity Church in Chelyabinsk there are parts of the relics of the Monk Seraphim of Sarov, the Great Martyr Trifon, the Apostle Timothy.

In addition to the shrines that are constantly kept in the church, visitors can also be worshiped in it - several times in the recent history of the Holy Trinity Church in Chelyabinsk, the relics of St. Matrona of Moscow were brought here. The last time it happened in November 2014 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the consecration of the temple.
