Haltel for bathroom

The joint between the edge of the bath and the wall often becomes a problem in the repair. If it is not sealed properly, the water and steam will begin to enter the bath, leading to corrosion and even the appearance of the fungus. How to eliminate this unsightly gap?

Previously, people sealed the joint with a thick layer of cement mortar and painted over with enamel paint. This decoration looked not very neat and needed regular updating. At the moment, there are more effective solutions to this problem, one of which is the use of decorative fillet for the bathroom. It is a plinth made of expanded foam or PVC, which does not absorb liquid. Fillet from polyurethane is more plastic and strong, so they are often used to seal the slots. The foam plastic fillet has an interesting design, however, it is not suitable for fixing deep openings. It is used purely for decorative purposes as a ceiling skirting board .

Fastening of the PVC panel to the bathroom is carried out in stages:

  1. Preparatory stage . The surface of the wall and bath is degreased with a solvent and left to dry. The fillets are cut according to the dimensions of the sides of the bath. The corners of the panels are filed under 45% and sanded with sandpaper.
  2. Application of glue . The inner surface of the panel is covered with liquid nails and allowed to stand for a couple of minutes.
  3. Mounting . The fillet is applied in such a way that it closes the gap and is firmly pressed. Then again, it is separated from the wall and left for 3 minutes to pour the glue. The fillet is installed again and firmly pressed against the wall.
  4. Final sealing . On the lower and upper abutting sides of the panels, an aquarium silicone is applied neatly. It is distributed with a brush soaked in soapy water.

As you can see, eliminating the gap between the bathroom and the tile is not anything complicated. You just need to choose the correct sealant and do the job neatly.
