Of course, there are a lot of questions about the fuel used, the device and the principle of the fireplace . How can I use any type of fuel in a city apartment without chimneys and a specific ventilation system? Why is the fuel called bio? Everything is simple enough. First of all, it should be said that having such a fireplace in the house, you do not have to stockpile a lot of firewood or coal - room fireplaces on biofuel use denatured ethanol as an expendable raw material. When ethanol burns, no toxic substances are formed (decomposed into water vapor and carbon monoxide), smoke and sparking do not occur, and heat is released, as in burning traditional fuels. Therefore, fireplaces for an apartment on biofuel and do not need the arrangement of chimneys and exhaust system.
In addition, the developers of this type of fuel for more plausibility of the combustion effect (ethanol burns almost colorless flame) use various types of additives, coloring the flame in yellow and orange colors. Additives are absolutely harmless, but the effect of burning natural wood is stunning! The source raw materials for the production of biofuel are vegetable crops with a high sugar content (reed, corn, beet), so the prefix "bio" is fully justified. The average fuel consumption (ethanol) is approximately 0.3 l / h, and the thermal capacity of the standard bio fireplace is about 4 kW / h (for comparison: the same indicator of a standard electric heater is 2 kW / h).
Structurally, the bio fireplace is a burner in the form of a glass of refractory material with a container for ethanol (fuel). The latest models of biofireplaces are equipped with automatic flame shut-off and a regulator of its height (in the first models it was necessary to wait for a complete burn-out of the fuel). To give a bio-fireplace aesthetic appearance, the outer part of the burner is made out by a portal , which can be made in different stylistic variants.

As an interior element, the bio-fireplace can be both large stationary for several burners, and very small, portable, for one burner.
The very simple design of bio-fireplaces allows them to be manufactured in several, sometimes very unexpected, versions:

The material of the fuel unit itself is metal - most often high-quality stainless steel. To decorate the fuel block, a variety of materials are used - stone, marble, fireproof glass, valuable woods, plastics and various combinations of these materials.
