In today's world, hard and emotionless, no reports of ill-treatment of parents and other people with children, as well as crimes on this basis, have long been possible for any news release. They do not forget to sanctify the consequences of child abuse, such as depression, smoking, obesity or alcoholism, violence or becoming a victim of violence, for girls an unplanned pregnancy due to high-risk sexual behavior, and the worst is the same cruel behavior towards own children.
Causes of child abuse
Often the cruelty of parents leads to critical confluences of circumstances: loss of work, unplanned pregnancy. Sometimes the reason is an elementary ignorance about child development (seemingly causeless crying of the child, a difficult acquaintance with the pot, etc.). Moreover, the model of domestic violence, as a rule, is transmitted from generation to generation.
Signs of child abuse
Any action that causes harm to the child can be considered an insult. It can be physical, emotional or sexual, and the fourth form of child abuse is disregard for it.
- A physically abused child always has marks on the body of beatings, cuts, bruises, and sometimes fractures and internal injuries.
- Forcing the child to think that he is unwanted or inferior, screaming at him, or even completely ignoring him, the parents cause an emotional insult that is not visible to the eye, but no less dangerous.
- Sexual abuse is caused by sexual contact between an adult and a child, due to the demonstration of pornography.
- In the case when the child does not have the necessary household items, he is deprived of medical care and protection, does not go to school, the child's disregard for the child.
All these kinds of cruel treatment of children are punishable by law, and not just deprivation of parental rights. Parents (depending on the form of ill-treatment) are imposed administrative, civil or criminal liability.
What are the signs of child abuse?
Look at the child, perhaps you will notice signs of beatings, torture. A poor attitude is shown by the neglected state of the child, in particular, the state of health (dystrophy, pediculosis, apparent lag in physical development). It would be nice to look at the housing conditions: unsanitary conditions for keeping a child, neglect of hygiene standards, maybe a child, and nowhere to sleep properly - all this indicates a disparaging and cruel treatment of children in the family.
Statistics of child abuse
According to statistics, the most frequent manifestation of child abuse is deprivation of food or drink (about 20-24%), 10-15% of parents lock their descendants in the dark, and about 13% are completely expelled from their homes. Approximately 25-50% of children report being subjected to violence (according to international statistics), and about 30 thousand children under the age of 15 are annually victims of murder. Statistics of child abuse show that the child is often a target for the emergence of negative emotions of parents, for example in Russia in 2009, about 1.7 thousand children were killed, and 65 thousand parents are deprived of parental rights, in Ukraine the situation is not much better: About 80 thousand families are registered for abuse of children.
Cases of child abuse are truly daunting. One of the most sensational cases in recent times occurred in March 2010. Krasnoyarsk regional court found guilty and sentenced to 15 years in a strict-regime colony Cherepanov A.Ch., cruelly killed a one-year-old girl. The girl's parents left for business, leaving the child for grandmother. In the evening, my grandmother and granddaughter went to a neighbor (she lived with a roommate, now convicted), after drinking a grandmother went home (forgetting about her granddaughter), and the child stayed on the same bed with Cherepanov. In the morning, the frightened girl started screaming, for which he threw it on the floor and after a shrill scream the little girls caused deadly wounds to the head with a knife and an ax.
