Quartz-Vinyl Laminate

Not so long ago in the market of floor coverings there was one more new material - quartz-vinyl laminate. The scope of its use is quite wide: country houses and urban apartments, commercial and entertainment facilities, etc. This water-resistant laminate is a worthy competitor to a conventional laminate.

Advantages and disadvantages of quartz-vinyl laminate

Vinyl laminate is a very strong floor covering, which, if properly installed, can last up to 20 years. Thanks to a transparent wear-resistant layer applied to vinyl tiles, this kind of laminate has an excellent water resistance. In addition, such a floor in the winter will not be cold. Therefore, this material is used in rooms with high humidity: in bathrooms, bathrooms, laundries, etc.

Unlike other types of laminate, quartz-vinyl coating does not contain additives harmful to humans: foaming agents and plasticizers. It can be used in rooms with warm floors, as well as in houses where there are differences between summer and winter temperatures. In addition, this material has excellent noise insulation, and walking on it is a real pleasure, as this coating is soft and pleasant to the touch.

The quartz, calcite and glass fibers contained in the base layer of this coating cause excellent wear resistance and dimensional stability of this tile. With a mild heating, such a laminate does not emit harmful, and stack it quite easily.

Caring for the floor of quartz-vinyl laminate is no different from the usual coating: to remove dirt enough to wipe the surface with a mop with a wet nozzle.

The design of vinyl laminate is diverse. Different color solutions with images, images and their combinations make it possible to choose just such a floor covering that the most demanding owner will like.

The quartz-vinyl laminate has its disadvantages, the main one of which is its fire hazard. In case of strong inflammation, the coating begins to release hazardous substances. Therefore, this material is not recommended to be laid in the kitchen.

When contacting rubber products or even rubber shoes, a chemical reaction occurs and the vinyl laminate can change its color.

To the disadvantages of this coating, many consider its high cost compared to other flooring materials. Nevertheless, quartz-vinyl laminate is very much in demand and with proper installation and maintenance will serve you more than a dozen years.

How to lay a quartz-vinyl laminate?

There are two types of laying quartz-vinyl laminate: on glue and with the help of locks. However, the first option is quite rare because mounting the glue laminate is quite difficult. And replace part of the plates in case of damage in this case can not be: you need to dismantle the entire floor covering.

In this respect, the laminate with lock fasteners is much more practical, it can easily be changed if necessary, without disassembling the entire floor. Before laying this material, it is necessary to carefully level the base and plaster it. This is especially important for quartz-vinyl laminate, because the coating is quite soft. And even an insignificant small rubbish that has fallen under the coating can eventually lead to a rapid wear of this floor covering.

When the substrate is ready, it must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and other contaminants. The material before laying should lie in the same room, where it will be mounted within two days. The temperature in the room should be above +18 ° C.

The laminate should be laid from the corner of the room, and the slats should be connected at an angle of 45 ° C. Lamellae should retreat from the walls by 4-5 mm. Correctly mounted quartz-vinyl laminate will make any room both original and cozy.
