After choosing tulle in the store, you will necessarily have a question - how to properly and quickly sew it? Do not panic - it's not difficult to do at home if you have a typewriter and a little patience. Before we proceed to the master class, we measure the length of the finished product that we need and add to it 14 cm for the bottom and 1 cm for the top, we trim everything unnecessarily. If the bottom of the tulle is ready edging with a pattern - we cut it only from the top.
In order to tailor the tulle with your own hands you will need:
- cut fabric for tulle, it will look beautiful in width 2 times more than the length of the cornice ;
- curtain tape, its length should correspond to the width of the cut of the tulle; it can be either transparent or white if it is covered by a lambrequin;
- thread in tone tulle, preferably thin;
- centimeter;
- scissors;
- pins;
- iron.
How to sew tulle - master class
- We start with the smoothing of the edges of the tulle, they are often jammed or twisted.
- How to sew tulle on the sides
- Step back from the edge 3-4 cm and hook one thread with a needle.
- Pull this thread along the entire height of the tulle from top to bottom.
- Get a straight line, which will be a guide, fold twice the tulle, just before this line and iron it with an iron.
- Now you can stitch the side edges.
How to sew the bottom of the tulle?
- Similarly to the sides - we recede from the bottom of 14 cm and stretch the thread, we get a line along the entire lower edge.
- We turn in 2 times and iron.
- We sew the bottom of the tulle.
How to sew a curtain tape to the tulle?
- We put the tape on the wrong side of the tulle and fasten it with pins.
- We build the tape - from below, from above the tape, at the beginning and at the end.
- We collect tulle, sipping for a special rope on the ribbon to the size you need, and fix it around the edges on the bow.
- Now our tulle is ready to decorate the windows and add comfort to the house.
